Yep. I saw that earlier too. I’m never too optimistic that anybody of higher profile will go to prison, but it would be nice.
It seems like everyone, including Bondi, was against it.
Yeah. I can’t tell if thats based on merit of the case, bureaucratic inertia, or hesitation to prosecute somebody that has/had high status within the government.
we’ll see.
Yes, we will see. This had better have good evidence behind it and not be a repeat of what was done to Trump. I suspect it does.
I also suspect that the “unprecedented” gathering of every general officer in the military is related to this development and the related efforts against antifa, and not a foreign military threat. I wasn’t invited though, so who knows?
The best speculative theory I’ve read on what that is about can be read here.
Pre empitve strike on China
I am hearing this meeting is about Russia
Russia has been pissing everyone off, violating air space and pushing on the edges of Nato territories.
They’ve done this for a long time, and the classic response has been to scramble some fighter jets to get in their face and clearly define the border.
I guess it “works,” but if Russia keeps up with the provocative behavior, is it really an effevtive strategy?
In the past Pres Trump has been able to come up with simple, effective solutions to issues other leaders have had trouble with.
Is there a simple, cheap way to deter Russia that we’re about to see?
One theory is a PT test. That would be hilarious.
According to the guy whose post I shared above, you don’t gather every general in the armed forces for actual military plans like a war. So far, he’s got the best take I’ve read on the situation from a purely speculative viewpoint. Retired Army Colonel.
I was thinking a death race. 100 yds. At the end is a table full of guns.
When you reach the end, you grab a gun, turn, and start shooting the others that aren’t finished.
Ready! Set!..
I’ve heard a theory that they’re rewriting the military oath to make officers more loyal to the president.
Haven’t seen it from any trusted source though.
I’d put the odds of that significantly lower than preemptively invading Canada.
I suspect it relates to the entire national narrative of Democrats over the last decade unraveling in front of the American public, along with even more indictments coming down.
The coup attempt didn’t end when Trump was elected. Indicting the conspirators is the easy part. The hard part is managing the significant brainwashed section of the public who has bought into the entire “Trump is a threat to democracy narrative” for the last decade, including people in the military brass. Many will be looking at Trumps reaction to the coup attempt as proof positive that he is Hitler.
Maybe I’m wrong, but this all looks like a pretty well planned operation to defund and ideologically purge neo-Marxism out of the Federal government, along with hold people accountable for systematically lying to Americans for many years.
J6 was a fedsurrection.
My source is my manager, retired Navy Commander and also was posted at the Pentagon
I’m not sure I’m on board with the activation of our military against Antifa.
I want these scum to drown in a bucket of their own bodily fluids, but the precedent this sets is unsettling.
Next time a lefty gets elected, anyone sympathetic towards the proud boys will be considered a target for US military. Because the left are masters at making slopes slippery.
I don’t think we will see the military used on civilians aside from what we saw in Washington DC where they basically patrol the streets in cities with regular shootouts.
If Cynical Publius is correct, it will be more of a tone-setting event to remind brass that generals aren’t in the social justice business.
Antifa doesn’t need the military anyway. It just needs its funding cut and bad actors arrested for their actual crimes. Basically the complete opposite of how Democrats responded to BLM riots in their jurisdictions.
Antifa is just the public agitators and street intimidation arm of Democrats. Ironically they act almost exactly like Nazi Brownshirts, but the Communists and Social Democrats also had paramilitary agitators who caused mayhem in the streets of Weimar Germany.
Germany is an awful comparison to the USA for many reasons. There was no equivalent of MAGA Republicans in the 1920’s and 1930’s Germany. Just varying collectivist parties and the monarchists.
It’s all connected through Democrats, and Trump appears to be systematically dismantling their power bases across all “theaters” of political warfare, including reasserting institutional control over the military in accordance with constitutional principles.
Look, I agree with you, but I still believe that what trump is doing is setting precedents that will make it easier to abuse power in the future.
I agree with what he’s doing NOW and why hes doing it, I just dont trust any precedent that gives the government additional authority.
Thats it right there. Imagine a democrat taking any of actions, and think if you’re ok with that happening in the future.
