Several decades away from it, that title looks like a whole different genre now.
Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History is a fantastic podcast but Carlin is obviously not up to date on National Socialism or Fascism. He never really gets into the weeds of political ideology on his podcasts, focusing more on wars and major events. He seems like a typical Boomer lib who gets his news from CNN who likely believes that Hitler and Mussolini were “right wing” in the same way that American Republicans are “right wing.” That’s the impression I was given about the ideologies in the 1990s.
I recently read several academic books that were published long after Carlin studied history in college that make it abundantly clear that Nazis bore no meaningful resemblance to American republicans except for the basic idea of nationalism.
Democratic Socialism has a MUCH greater overlap with National Socialism, and it isn’t particularly close.
I feel bad for him and everyone else suffering from TDS.

Related, Lewiston’s chief of police has resigned unexpectedly after growing up here and serving 33 years on LPD. Exactly the kind of guy you want in the job.
Lots of speculation that he was either bullied out or just sick of trying to do a job that Maine Democrats don’t support. I’m betting on a combination of the two. He’s only 55 and a lot of us were expecting him to serve a lot longer.
It must suck to have out of state and out of town Democrat stooges in office while the courts make sure all of the people you arrest stay on the streets. A Sisyphean task if there ever was one.
The same cult of stooges read the same script in Lewiston that they do in DC. “Crime is akshually down!” they say as gun battles happen every week, while also saying “we can’t arrest our way out of this problem”.
More gunshots have been fired in anger in Lewiston since Mills took office in 2019 than the rest of history combined, and it isn’t even close.

The problem is that the rest of the “non-crazy” left doesn’t call out the far left when it spews bullshit.
They allow insane opinions, positions, and policy to go unchallenged. In fact, when they are challenged, the challenger is often ostracized - if not outcasted from the cult group.
The right does not tolerate racism, and many of us aren’t all-in on ushering in the Great Reset.
Go to a Trump rally and start saying racist shit, see how fast you get called out and booted.
Go to a lefty rally and start saying crazy shit. You’ll get people falling in line behind you.
We really just arent the same.

I think if we were to reset hot and fast - intentional collapse and overthrow of the government - we would have the momentum and intentionality of rebuilding it better.
If we fizzle out and die like the UK has been doing, we won’t have that.
We need strong, motivated, and knowledgeable young men to make this country great again (or to rebuild it better), and these people are more under attack than they ever have been in history. I do not believe that is an accident.

They are the preferred class in the state of quasi-democratic socialism we’re already living in. Of course they prefer it.

It’s true that women tend to be generally more liberal than men though. Why that is is a different guestion altogether.
Nothing I’ve seen supports this notion. Sure, there are crazy radicals on both sides, but I don’t buy that cult shit.
I also speak with US liberals, and some claim the excactly same thing about rebs: ”they are a cult and disagreeing with great Messiah Trump or his henchmen is not allowed”.
Political movements are rarely completely unified. Unless there’s some purges or strong totalitarianism going on.
