Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

I think both of these can be true simultaneously. Most politicians want to deliver and are willing bend the truth for power/votes.

I think Trump goes on that category too. Many in Europe think that he’s a charlatan with only his own benefit on his mind. That’s way too one dimensional to describe any individual. Is he a lying, ruthless and cunning guy? Most likely, but there’s also things he believes and wants to drive forward.

They’ll be fine! Their supporters love them and will gladly pick up the slack. No matter how many billions it is. :+1:

I found it surprising to learn that only like 2% of NPRs budget comes from federal funds. I’m sure they like the extra money but losing won’t be a death sentence by any stretch

Broadly speaking I like the idea of public radio but i completely understand why conservatives would listen to it and not want their tax money going to it. I would feel the same if 2% of Fox News budget was federal funds

Oh yeah? I know you probably can’t get into the weeds with something like Roe v. Wade, but think about this.

Roe v. Wade was a tenuous decision by the supreme court in 1973 which became the defacto “law” regarding abortion.

Democrats seized this and proclaimed themselves champions of womens reproductive rights.

They rode this decision until June of '22 when it was overturned (under biden!) without ever passing a law to codify and make it permanent.

BUT!!! It was a hot button topic for virtue signaling and throttling votes out of people for 49 years. From Presidents to local mayors, if you wanted womens votes and to let people know where you stand, you invoke the Magic Words.

Think about that… ()

49years of claiming that they are the champions of womens reproductive rights and not a single fucking law.

Thats what I’m talking about.

Yeah. I know the case, but not in detail. I also know there’s zero cohesion in abortion politics between states.

This is a good example from the other end. I’m sure you can find similar examples from rebs?

There are many from both sides, thats just a humongous easily recognizable one that lasted a Really long time.

Man, they got many miles and many elections out of that one.

Big cities like Houston should be fine. It’s the smaller rural stations that will probably shut down.

Sounds like politics to me. Hahah.

The thing what grinds my gears most is the “gamey” part of politics. It’s the same in every country. Parties taking glory from stuff they haven’t done or blaming others same stuff they do.

Similar example: few years back our leftist parties here claimed current right wing gov’s cuts to unemployment benefits “unhuman”, couple years ahead they’re in charge and do almost same decisions conserning the same benefits.

And everybody does these things.

Glad to know its not just here.

I had a little spat on facebook with my 7th grade english teacher of all people, wherein she said that when Obama went after illegals it was OK, cuz he did it right…

Yeah, his ice agents didnt have bricks being thrown at them. Quite different!

Those are nonprofit accounting tricks. The statement is only “technically true” by virtue of most member stations receiving grants from a “non-government organization” called The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which is funded almost entirely by tax dollars.

It varies by station, but NPR as it exists today is made possible by tax dollars far more than the listener.

Here’s Maine Public, who I still tune into occasionally. It typically takes no more than a few minutes before I catch them weaving political narratives that are pure propaganda, by the dictionary definition of the word.

It makes all of the hyperbolic Trump coverage make a lot more sense when you realize that the whole thing is a public grift. I don’t think NPR will do much better than Air America did over 20 years ago when it tried to sustain an openly progressive media to compete with Rush Limbaugh, et al, who were viable due to their organically developed audience that was valuable to advertisers.

Sorry for the tiny screenshots. I’m using DataRepublican’s tool, which is an open-source code using AI to estimate taxpayer contributions within the nonprofit blob that launders our public money. You can also look up tax fillings on the IRS website for any nonprofit.

Ahhh well then that’s not so good then, taking your word for that it could be a death sentence for them in that case

What state are you in? I can tell you how much your local public radio is likely to lose.

I used to be a rabid listener for decades, btw. If they had stuck with basic news reporting, Car Talk, broadcasting Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy, and documenting the navel gazing of upper middle class liberals, they’d probably still have funding.

They couldn’t help themselves from going full woke activist. To be fair, it looked like a good bet and would have been if Harris won. Four more years of mass migration might have sealed the deal with a permanent one party state at the Federal level.

Didn’t the last 4 years of mass migration lead to the election of Trump? The democrats actually LOST votes compared to 2020… how do you square those two things? Shouldn’t the votes for democrats have been the amount they got (because they rigged it) in 2020+new illegal immigrant voters ?

To a degree, yes they did.

I happen to live in what I believe is one of the test jurisdictions for mass migration, which requires a high degree of organization to achieve. It is easy to observe how this machine ramps up with time, as more nonprofits are stood up and people trained on the processes of human trafficking.

We can only speculate about the migration numbers a Harris Administration would have enabled, but the machine would have continued ramping up at all levels, in all states, in towns just like mine.

It is still taking place in much of Europe and Canada. As years pass they will give us insight into how it might have played out here in the USA. As it stands, I would be jailed if I were writing the words I put out in Lewiston if I were posting them from an address in the UK or Germany.

The UK also just lowered their voting age to 16. These Socialists are all following a very similar playbook, and something like that could absolutely have been possible with a Harris administration and Democrat majority congress.

Thankfully we’re in the Trump timeline, where that whole machine got shut down by executive action, which the Biden Administration told us required an act of Congress that was being stymied from afar by Trump, who was not in power at the time.

I think you wouldn’t be.

Unless you’re denying holocaust or something. Laws in Germany are pretty strict about it, and you could be at least fined.

That is false. Even our mainstream media has documented this.

But how do you explain that the votes never materialized? The entire claim is that the democrats basically imported millions of voters so they’d never lose another election… but then millions of votes disappeared

Doesn’t that start to raise questions about the whole idea of that plot? Or what happened to all the votes the democrats should have gotten ?

It certainly does raise a lot of questions about how Joe Biden managed to receive 81 million votes. Maine has the highest voter turnout in the nation, and a tourist from Finland could easily register and cast a vote at any polling place in Lewiston.

Our Finnish visitor would only need to put down their address as one of our homeless shelters, rattle off four digits that they say are the last 4 of their social security number, provide a name, and then they will be registered on the spot.

They could then walk over, request a ballot, and cast their vote. We may not have Finnish-fluent translators to help them, but we do have translators available in dozens of other languages.

This vote would then be counted hours later, with the election result declared no later than the following day, unless a recount or ranked-choice shenanigans ensue.

If it is happening right here where I live, it is happening elsewhere.

My suspicion is that WAY more eyes were on the 2024 election that the 2020, which occurred during the pandemic where I was told I had to receive an experimental medical treatment or lose my job at a defense contractor.

During Obama there was the fast track to citizenship thing.

Thats when they found out that Mexicans are a lot more conservative than they had hoped.

During Biden, the floodgates were simply opened fully to people from where ever, how ever they get in. The southern border was the gateway for the world.

Different areas that are less socially conservative than mexican catholics had to be tapped.

Not going to defend Germany’s laws, but…

I’m not sure how aggressively you post in social media, but nothing you’ve written here woukd constitute as a hate speech.

Volksverhetzung (German: [[ˈfɔlksfɐˌhɛtsʊŋ], in English “incitement to hatred” (used also in the official English translation of the German Criminal Code) incitement of popular hatred", “incitement of the masses”, or “instigation of the people”, is a concept in German criminal law that refers to incitement to hatred against segments of the population and refers to calls for violent or arbitrary measures against them, including assaults against the of others by insulting, maliciously maligning, or defaming segments of the population.

It is often applied to, though not limited to, trials relating to Holocaust denial…
