I grokked the “baby bonds” plan to find out the specifics. Fyi the “right wing” people I listen to (Megyn Kelly) specifically mentioned Cory Booker’s plan when she talked about the new MAGA plan.
Yes, it’s a good plan except for the part where it’s managed by the gov’t; because we all know what happens to plans managed by the gov’t -grift/corruption. And the 3% interest is a laughable investment proposal.
The MAGA plan puts the money into the stock market. Newsflash -the market is “rigged” i.e. de facto supported by the US Gov’t as well, but managed by capitalists. If the proletariat want to have any chance of participating in the wealth generated by this country’s moneyed elite, they need to invest in the stock market. Period.
So yes, it’s a rebranding, but better. Just like DJT is really a democrat, but rebranded, and better.
And Democrats would love to import them as refugees when things go from bad to worse in South Africa, then tell them all about the bad white people over here.
I absolutely do, given the context. The South African president was recently disparaging the people fleeing the brewing state-sponsored dispossession and violence being inflicted along racial lines.
I mean, it is LITERALLY HITLER politics playing out in 2025. Blame the ethnic minority for all of the problems, then take all of their stuff legally and killing them is even more desirable. Trump even dimmed the lights to make them all watch, which I thought was a nice touch.
