That may be and I don’t know the details, but that was a common refrain about Trump as well, and his charges were literally trumped-up. There’s an awful lot of examples of this from across the world. Too many for me to ignore, especially after closely following Trump’s sham trial to convict him of 34 victimless felonies.
Certainty of guilt was also high in previous Socialist governments. That’s where “Show me the man, I’ll show you the crime” came from.

Of course Le Pen was proved guilty by the court. I’m no expert of French court system, but I doubt it would be so corrupt that this level of stuff would pass because of some political battle.
I no longer have those sort of doubts at all. Socialist don’t play by the rules here at all, and I doubt they do in Europe, either.
Trump was also convicted in a real courtroom with real jurors, real lawyers and a real judge. All with a completely novel legal theory, making him the first person to ever pull off the now-felonious behavior that victimizes noone.

It reminds me of the uproar over the Columbia student who was “deported for standing up for Gaza”.
He was calling for the overthrow of Western Civilization while here on a green card. No sane country would allow that, which is why I’ve never yelled “Death to Canada”, or Mexico, Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Jamaica, or anywhere else I’ve visited. It seems kind of rude.
Now, he can chant “Death to America” in his homeland.

All the countries that have implemented burqa bans have experienced issues. If not specifically “grooming rape gangs”, they have all seen a rise in rape and sexual assaults since the increase in immigration from “certain” countries.
