That was a response to the previous disrespect shown by Zelensky that had been building throughout the press conference.
Characterizing them as such is completely disingenuous.

He did say Zelensky was the one who started it. I think, given what Vance said, that he took advantage of the opportunity to say things he had wanted to say to Zelensky. These are politicians and they are always playing a game. This doesn’t mean Vance said anything wrong, just that it wasn’t some spontaneous off the cuff response.
No, it wasn’t off the cuff at all. This is the 3rd time Zelensky, for what ever reason, has not signed on for this.
And of course, there’s the moments preceeding the blow up when he made it clear he was not there for help in starting the peace process.

I said that before (Scott Bessent and Marco Rubio have mentioned the 2 previous aborted “signings”), but the european experts on here shrugged it off.
A lot of people (even the ones who were thinking ambush) have said that if one watches the entire video of the meeting, it was 100% not an “ambush” by Trump/Vance.
Of course, I only watched the good parts and I didn’t see ambush at all. Forget the words, look at the body language -Zelensky 100% was not there to be diplomatic. Crossed arms, rolling eyes, veiled innuendo that the US might be vulnerable…give me a fucking break coddling this Little Napoleonic Complex asshole.

I could be wrong, but I believe Vance, knowing how Zelensky is, was prepared to give him a piece of his mind if Zelensky responded the way he ultimately responded. Konstantin had a point in that the clips being circulated did not tell the whole story and you need to see it from the beginning to understand the perceived rancor.

I wonder how much of this is for the benefit of his people. If we assume that it is inevitable there will be a peace agreement and that it won’t be 100% favorable to Ukraine, he can tell his people that he tried. He even argued with Trump in front of the world. Maybe all of this is just political theater bs before the conclusion we already know that they already know, is made official.
The sad part is people are dying in the meantime. If we didn’t have a dementia afflicted president the whole time, maybe this could have ended over a year ago. Once it was obvious the war was not going to last three days or three months, the president should have been pushing for peace rather than just supply Ukraine with weapons.

You can see at several points where Trump kind of grimaces and his demeanor changes as Zelinsky keeps digging deeper. The one particular point is when Zelensky responds that peace is a long way off or something. Trump clearly grimmaces and shakes his head, reiterating that this is a peacemaking effort.
Conspiracy theorists would say this war would’ve ended already, except the Ukrainians own Hunter Biden, and therefore when push came to shove, Demented Joe had to fall (heh) in line.
It’s not that I’m ok with it. I think the number of people who claim to be trans is due to reasons other than gender dysphoria as there is no way that many people can have it. I don’t agree with trans females competing against biological ones. I just think these people do have rights, whether we like it or not, as this is America. They are human beings. The only thing that should matter is whether or not they can do the job. I’m trying really hard to not look at this through my normal lens that tells me this whole trans thing is a bunch of horse crap. I served with a woman who was transitioning. She wasn’t a very good soldier as a woman and the only change the hormones made were with regard to her voice.

This goes right in line with dems talking sympathy while doling out billions, refusing to sit down and talk until the other side “behaves properly”. Its like Rocket man in north korea. He escalated in talk and action from the time he was coronated or whatever, with Obamas admin.
Trump comes in, says “Hey, lets talk.” And it all quiets down.
People love to jump on the high horse of “we don’t negotiate with dictators” and what ever other sorts of shit flinging, but look at the results.
Shut them out, you get escalation. Talk, visit, come to some understanding- you get peace.

That dude was such a massive vulnerability. Between his insatiable appetite for coke and under age girls, I gaurantee that Ukrain has feature length films of his ridiculous debauchery.
First off, I don’t want Russia to win. I don’t think that’s good for the world. I would like to see the war end however and I think there is a way for that to happen which doesn’t require Russia losing. I believe those who were ok with things continuing as they have, wanted to see Russia lose and/or had some interests in the military industrial complex; they had financial benefit in mind. I am no fan of Trump but I don’t think he gets any personal benefit from continuing the war. The people around him, I don’t know if it is all of them, also genuinely want the war to end. There is nothing in it for them. Biden couldn’t tell the difference between Ukraine and the Yukon.

I was found to be unfit for service after the drano thing. Scarring of the esophagus and upper respiratory system , but all together in fucking ridiculous physical condition.
So I look at some dude who had his pecker turned into a vagina and needs lifetime hormone therapy and say “Tough luck buddy. Standards are standards. And you don’t meet them.”.

I think you would agree that gender dysphoria is a valid diagnosis for anyone trying to become a different gender, yes?
If I had ideations of self-harm, or body dysmorphia to the extent at which I believed I needed surgery and hormones to make my imagination become my reality - I think it would be reasonable to say that I am not in a capable mental state of doing my job.
I do not see that this is any different from anyone transitioning.
They are going through life-changing therapies and medical procedures… their mind is not on the mission, making them a vulnerability.
Kick them out, honorable discharge.
