Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

Even if that’s the case, then it’s up to you, someone who’s IQ is obviously higher than that of the failed Democratic nominee, to discard what Trump says as nonsense.

This one’s the Trump thread it will be all over the place no matter what. I think if you’re reading one partisan pundit’s daily takes you aren’t going to find a whole lot different from the next guy. I sometimes listen to Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh and it is often remarkably similar content for the day.

For more serious takes from a historian’s point of view, I like to read Victor Davis Hanson. He distinguishes himself from Richardson by supporting his arguments without making all of the rhetorical leaps and inferences about motivation that she does.

I haven’t come across any other writers saying anything substantially different, but for other “thought leaders” it has depended over the years. I’ve read about six or seven of Noam Chomsky’s books and he goes to remarkable lengths to arrive at his bad policy ideas. I found it quite compelling in my 20’s.

A People’s History of The United States by Howard Zinn is also a great insight into how historians like Richardson selectively present a very carefully curated version of history to support their modern policy ideas. It is held in very high-esteem by progressives.

Reading Marx, Englels, Rousseau, Plato and a whole bunch of other thinkers can also give you insight into where a lot of these ideas originated and how they have evolved over time. It has been a while since I dove down any of those tedious rabbit holes myself.

For a good primer on political thought, I’m becoming a really big fan of TIKHistory on youtube. I’m on part 12 of his 51 part series on Stalingrad. It is incredible and challenges WWII Eastern Front history as I first learned it 25 years ago. The political philosophy stuff is more of a side-project of his, but I find it all to be very thought-provoking and well-supported.

My non Strawman assertion is that innovation, within the capitalist system, is what is responsible for the economy.

I judge both parties’ economic policies by how they interfere with either innovation or capitalism.

Fuck you zecarlo!

Due to conformity in this….errrr…typical right wing echo chamber……I must deem you as the villain and wrong.

Better you be the villain than me.

One of the few podcasts I will watch.

Alright folks I think thats my allotment for political chatter online today, I appreciate the back and forth and hope you did too even if I am filthy libtard vermin scum

Well, you won’t get much innovation under communism. Innovation and conformity don’t go well together. Also, capitalism rewards success but doesn’t really punish failure.

Either way, it wasn’t going to be a white man.

I appreciate the convo too man. Definitely a cut above. :+1:

So there’s that.

Last post before I need to move my ass and lift.

I think it would be awesome if Trump and Musk start the Mars Program. I would probably disagree on fiscal grounds, but it would be pretty MAGA.

What philosophies do you lean left on? I have classic liberal leanings, but this neo-lib stuff is grotesque.

Me too. But some things are worth wasting money on!

@BrickHead

Have you seen this lol.

Radical lib women are melting down after Donald Trump’s landslide victory saying they will join the 4B movement and refuse to date men, get married, have sex with men, or have children. See, I told you Donald Trump would be the most pro-life president in history.

I’ve seen soooo few objectively attractive liberal women. Win / win

After raising the most money ever for a Presidential campaign (over $1 Billion), the DingDong campaign finished in the red by $20 million.

Yep, would’ve totally helped to steer the economy in the right direction.

Let’s get some facts about gasoline prices as it relates to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR)

Trump inherited 695 Mbbl (million barrels) in the SPR. He allowed it to drop to 635 Mbbl. When Covid hit he tried to have it filled, but Congress prevented that. Trump left Biden with 638 Mbbl in the SPR.

So Biden inherited 638 Mbbl in the SPR. As of November 1, 2024 the SPR has 387 Mbbl. Biden followed Clinton’s lead as being the only two Presidents to use the SPR to reduce the retail price of gasoline at the pumps.
