I think this is what’s behind the recent evaluations of his presidency. You look at Bush, and it’s obvious why he had the screwups he had. It was inevitable. With Obama, you saw someone who seemed to have a gift with regard to communicating and leadership but it was squandered as he chose to cozy up to Hollywood, high society and the elites.

First off, no. Tolkien has incredibly nuanced and thought-provoking concepts about morality surrounding elves and orcs. He also wrote a “fuck you” letter to the third reich when they wanted to publish his work.
It’s not gay of you beat them up afterwards.
It’s easy to be good in a warm room, and he had many. Now that some of the elite have been alienated by two multi-billion dollar failures, the rooms aren’t so warm any more. Hillary and Harris cost a lot of people a lot of money with no ROI.
They were supposed to be his 3rd & 4th terms, and they blew it for a lot of very deep pockets.
Not sure if you’re into his stuff, but I’ll be checking this out tonight when I can’t sleep.

I’ve read all of Tolkien multiple times.
Are you seriously arguing that Dungeons and Dragons game design was not heavily influenced by Tolkien, specifically elves, dwarves and orcs?
Or that orcs were not intrinsically evil in Tolkien’s writings?
Or that orcs were found in the D&D monster manual, not the player’s handbook?
Or that Amazon didn’t also introduce the “good orc” notion in their awful Rings of Power series, which wasn’t Tolkien at all?
Anyone who has worked their way through The Silmarillion can tell you that no race was intrinsically good, and neither were the Valar or Maiar. Orcs, all bad. Not a single good orc character exists in Tolkiens work.
I’m not sure what Nazis have to do with the conversation in this regard.
Regardless, D and D is now woke, when neither it nor Tolkien ever were.

It did. I really like his style. He gets a cool guest, asks a question, then lets them answer. They talk about stuff and there it is. A unique perspective.

Yep! I might get a set, either for myself or my son. He has no interest in either D&D or welding, but its a good disguise.

Yeah. I have to talk to him about that before too long. Give him a skill to get by with if he chooses to continue his education after high school. I’ve taken him to work with me a few times to help with prep work & stuff. He doesn’t like noise or pain though, so
