I’m right there with @physioLojik that your issue is probably diet related. Not sodium, but a specific food your normally eating. I’m leaning more to a slight gluten allergy that you aren’t aware of, but this weeks experiment will be able to tell that for sure.
You might even feel a little off or slightly weak around day 3 or 4 due to the drastic carb reduction, but day 5 will make that all better lol.
I don’t think I have a sodium issue. Only thing I did different yesterday besides drinking the extra water was ate fewer carbs. So I ate some nuts(walnuts, almonds) , cheddar cheese, chicken, eggs. Did have some brown rice with the chicken for dinner. Did have 2 slices of white bread with eggs in morning. Cut out bread after that. And will not eat any bread today.
Btw I ended the day with my usual bloated belly. Looking pregnant type.
@physioLojik
Tried Creon for 8 days. No change. Hcl i tried but not consistently. Can try again.
I did extensive blood food allergy tests. Only shrimp came up with a level 1 allergy -low.
My mom is the same way with bloat.
It’s basically everything I eat. Same pre trt.
I’ll say this last year I tried citrucel tablets(Methylcellulose bulk forming fiber) and i believe it helped. Can’t clearly remember
I stopped because I believe it crashed my e2.
I get constipated. Taking the citrucel helped. But taking Schiff digestive advantage probiotic helps. If I take neither I believe I will get constipated again.
Rice not much. Just picking at it. Bread just in the morning with eggs - after I read your post.
My mother brought over fresh Italian bread yesterday- I resisted. Normally I would devour it.lol
I used to get those same bars from Costco. Unless you’re consuming enough water with them they’ll make you backed up. It sounds like you’re drinking enough now, was this always the case?
I didn’t finish it. It’s basically whatever I eat extends my belly.
When I sit down I can grab a good chunk of fat.
It could be with some water retention the fat looks more.
So perhaps it’s not straight out gas bloat. But at night belly def big and appears bloated.
So I stopped the probiotic started Creon digestive enzymes. It looks like it helped just slightly with the belly looking big and def helped with softer poop without taking probiotic.
I don’t know if it’s worth to keep taking Creon. Next thing I want to try HCL with meals. Being my stomach is sort of still recuperating from the Gastritis related to the endoscopy, I may wait a little longer before I try HCL, though I think it shouldn’t matter.
I have my urologist appt today. That’s my trt Dr. May discuss with him. But I know once I tell him I feel really good he may dismiss my belly issue.
Thinking back my “bloating” may have been better in subq when I was injecting 90. I’ve been on im since October At 100. I feel better on im. Felt good on subq
Am also thinking about going on metformin for a couple of months to see if it can help me remove some belly and visceral fat.
Here’s my reading on 100 im . Only checked total estrogens.
I hear you man. I hope you the best with figuring it out.
Your blood work looks good imo.
I never really suspected gas bloat from the start. I think it’s water retention fwiw. Your ideal E2 may be a little lower than what you’re at now and could have some bearing. According to your Free T, you could back the dose down just a tiny bit and that may help. If you’re feeling good and are still retaining water, then you’re going to have to get the diet dialed in to damn near perfect.
I can’t fully support metformin just yet. I’ve been on 500mg / day for a month and a half now and have yet to see any benefit, especially to my fasting BG. Still hovers at around 106-120.
Need to see if I want to continue enzymes and add hcl. Am leaning towards stopping enzymes and start hcl. I mean if I can do without the enzymes less crap to take.
That’s exactly what I’m thinking too. I just had a blood draw last Friday, so those results should be in any day now. When they come in I have to schedule my follow up consultation with Dr Calkins and I planned on asking him to up my metformin dose as well at that time.
Metformin once a day doesn’t do much. Also remember that you need to let it build up. It works by altering the microbiome - not acutely like a lot of asshats pass along.
