I would much rather hire based on Quals and experience. Don’t tell me there were not 1000 others better for this job. I think the fact she is a tranny was a high percentage in their scoring and consideration. I can’t prove it fully, and you can’t refute it fully, especially given history of this administrations appointees.
You’re modest enough about it, but at some point you might have chosen to click the link.
According to the article, she was hired as a technical adviser to the Bureau of Industry and Security, which is only a section of the Department. It’s not a presidential appointment, or a position of authority. She is a consultant, and there are all manner of issues which she appears to be a qualified to speak on.
For all we know though, her role is to revamp government workspace to be both gender neutral and ergonomic. Maybe they’ll keep her on afterward to conduct some pithy, hip sexual harassment seminars. What a waste, if you think about it.
Maybe a new Unisex only bathroom policy, so as not to make a transgender person confused when selecting a bathroom?

I imagine that stepping into the ladies room for the first time, after such an arduous transformation, feels something like crossing the Berlin Wall.

This is not newsworthy.
When it is pushed for the sake of “Diversity” and not based on “Qualifications”, like all other appointees by this administration, it is absolutely newsworthy. They also want to see “Hundreds More”. I’m sorry, but the whole affirmative action thing has gone too far and we are suffering because of it. It’s trickle-down dysfuctionality.
“For 30 years, she has worked in the aerospace and defense industry, most recently serving as Deputy Director in Advanced Technology Development at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Ariz. She holds degrees in physics, engineering and business administration, along with an extensive flight background. She is a certified flight instructor and test pilot with 20 years of experience.”
Like you just admitted, you never even read the article but proceeded to make a snap judgment. Making that mistake sparsely is forgivable, but you then proceed to admit you effectively do this all the time.
I find every post you make whittles away at what little respect I have remaining for you.
All this is well and true, assuming that The National Center for Transgender Equality is not above a little healthy exaggeration. I say this simply as one who has looked at many resumes over the years. There is a certain amount of vagueness to the descriptors. Notice they say degrees rather than advanced degrees (or for that matter Masters or PhD). Extensive flight background can mean a lot of things, as well as how flight instructor is worded in association with the 20 year (was she an instructor for 20 years or a twenty year pilot who has done instruction).
I am not saying this is the case. Just saying that my bullshit meter registered a spike when I read it.
My issue would be that he made an assumption with no point of reference other than his own bigotry. Like I said, not a big deal when it happens occasionally - we’re all human. But when it happen consistently and ALL THE TIME… it betrays mental weakness. That’s how I see it, anyway.
This is so fucking dumb I actually get a kick out of it. All of politics is just a hysterical joke now. .
