Tormenting Other Drivers

You are the one that fucks with people when they pass you. You are not driving legally. I’ll bet you also leave your left turn signal on for 20 miles at a time.
Is it legal to pass ON THE RIGHT and speed doing so?

I get in the left lane a couple of blocks from where I have to turn LEFT. About 50 yards from the actual intersection, I get in the LEFT-TURN lane. If you don’t do the above, you will simply be cut off and prevented from doing so.

Jackoffs like to speed around me rather than wait their turn, like rational beings. Fuck 'em, let 'em suffer or wait the fuck in line like all of us other peons!

Go lecture them, Zap. Teach 'em some FUCKING MANNERS!

It all depends on the state but where it is illegal to pass in the right lane it is also illegal to travel in the left(passing) lane.

You know you are in the wrong and are provoking road rage, that is why you titled this thread “Tormenting Other Drivers”.

Also its just illegal to speed, it doesn’t matter which lane your in. Someone driving in the left lane doing the speed limit is more in the right then you speeding in the right or left lane.

this is ridiculous. how can you say one is “more in the right” than the other ? and, assuming you could, i’d say that cruising in the left lane impedes the flow of traffic and creates many more hazardous situations than someone traveling over the limit.

In my state and many others it is illegal to travel in the passing lane. Where it is not illegal it is discourteous and a poor driving habit.

It is also illegal to speed.

Of course speedometers are not completely accurate so if he thinks he is doing the speed limit he may actually be under the speed limit and the guy trying to pass him may be within the legal speed limit.

So by traveling in the left lane he is knowingly breaking the law and the person trying to pass him may or may not be breaking the law.

He is also knowingly trying to provoke road rage. He has admitted it.

So he is more in the wrong than the person trying to pass him. And then when he accelerates to not let the person execute a legal lane change he is then committing reckless driving which is far worse.

It has nothing to do with legality or not. Someone driving slow in the left lane becasue they’re “in the right” by driving the speed limit is just being a douchebag. They aren’t the traffic police.

Say it 1000 times: left is for passing, right is for traveling. If you drive in NJ, NY, PA (probably a bunch of other states too), there are signs that say “keep right except to pass”. Well you still get the tools who are cruising along at 75 in the left lane and refuse to get over because they think it’s fast enough.

If I’m doing 110 in the left lane, and somebody comes up behind me going faster, I’ll get over.

It has nothing to do with legality and everything to do with common courtesy.

Zap, you’ve got to be just provoking me, as I like to do to shithead drivers. If so, I applaud you. It’s fun!

But, if I want to turn left off of a 4 lane road (which is busy) when DO you suggest that I get over into the left lane, the passing lane as you call it?
You’re argument is meant for FREEWAYS, not 4 lane, accessible roads.

You’re wrong, Zap. Plain and simply.

Once again, you are correct but ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY! Do you guys even read the thread before posting? Zap has so he should know better; he’s just trying to provoke me.

I get in the left lane to enter the LEFT-TURN lane at an intersection. I MUST get over to access the LEFT-TURN lane. Other drivers then try to race around me to get to the left-TURN lane.

Do we have a reading comprehension issue here? Sheeeessshhhhhh!!!

No… we don’t have a reading comprehension issue… because I wasn’t replying to your post!

If somebody makes a dick move like that, then yeah you have a right to be pissed. However, even in that instance, you have a choice between saying, “Alright, whatever, I’m gonna let this slide,” or saying, “ARRGHHH, must protect my precious perceived manliness at any cost!!! Must create a dangerous situation for myself and others on the road!!!”

I mean seriously, so you got cut off, what’s the big deal man? Is it your job to personally enforce the etiquitte of the road. If somebody had 17 items in the express line at the grocery store, do you walk up to them and punch them in the face? If somebody takes the bench you’re on in the gym, do you follow them around and hop on every piece of equipment right before they’re about to use it?

I can’t stand people who think they run the road and appoint themselves personal enforcers of any rules and regulations that they themselves feel are important. Usually I find these same individuals are incompetant-to-mediocre drivers themselves.

Just because you’re in a car doesn’t mean you get to act like an idiot.

Surprisingly, I did that when I typed it.

By my house, I have to turn left onto a road off of a 4-lane. Once in a while, someone will follow you patiently for a few seconds while you do the speed limit. But then, they decide to speed around you to cut in front to the left turn lane.

That’s when you floor it, to trap them outside. Rarely, and this is even more fun, the 3rd guy in line will gun it and REALLY trap the line-skipper. That’s when you get the screaming, flipping off, horns honking —absolutely hilarious!

HH, I am taking nothing out of context. What you are doing is hazardous.

You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me. Invoking the name of PennDOT to make something seem like a good idea?

You just reserved a condo in moron hell.

Yeah PennDOT sucks but they do know a lot about roads and traffic.

Try to separate the politics and the bureaucracy of the organization from the traffic engineers that actually know what they are doing.

Where do you live? Have you ever been to one of the major metropolitan areas in the US? If you had, you definitely would not make that statement.
Exactly, that’s why I moved out of Atlanta. Damn nightmare. 90 minutes to work…90 minutes home.
