He did grow into good music. In fact, he grew into great music. It’s a completely different sound, which is very uncommon these days. Their words actually have some meaning(to me and a lot of my friends at least), another rare trait in music these days. It’s too bad that you think they’re so terrible, but oh well, to each his/her own.
I never saw Tool live but i did get to see Perfect Circle live about two years ago , and they totally blew me away. In my opion i would chose Perfect circle over Tool but the good thing about me being blown away by Perfect Circle at the concert was that i started to check out some Tool songs and they have some amazing stuff too. The more i hear the Tool sound the more i like it.
elton john? beatles? are you fucking kidding me? i think you typed in the wrong web address. the one your looking for is www.estrogen.com. you can find all sorts of good info there from soy protein to making a basket? so do you listen to nsync while doing squats?
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!! While I can admit to liking “That’s Why They Call it the Blues” by Elton, your selections were all nominated at the last " I have no balls " femenists seminar. Haha. I don’t listen to Elvis much, but when you entertain that many people, you must have talent. The Beatles, started a “revolution”.Elton is also talented, albeit a little limp wristed(again,if you want to complain about that statement, listen to “hush” first). You can say what you want, Koko, but it’s obvious by this thread others think they are very talented. Once again,YOU think they are trying " too hard to be dark and mysterious", but I think anyone who listens to them will agree, only people who don’t listen to them think that. I know exactly what they 're saying, their points, and the messages they’re conveying. Don’t listen to them twinkle toes, but just because they aren’t “top 40” on the “hear what you want to be told” countdown, doesn’t mean they aren’t talented. Respond when you turn off The Backstreet Boys!!!
First off, why do you guys think I listen to Backstreet Boys, or other nonsense? I like Elton because he’s an excellent artist(Yes I know he’s queer as a three dollar bill). Along with the others I mention. Yous guys would be happy(i think) to know that I own three Pantera cds, along with every Metallica album.
On the other hand, I recently bought a "Mamas and the Papa's" greatest hits. Yesterday I bought an Allman Brothers cd. So basically, I like all sorts of music. For some reason, I just don't like Tool. Something about their sound that doesn't sit well with me. You guys obviously do, sweet!
So hopefully that clears up my musical tastes. Backstreet Boys, pulease!
I like 2 Pantera songs, not into them really. But at least you don’t like the Back door Boys. Hey,I’m sure not everyone likes John Denver,Gordon Lightfoot, but I can lsten to them. So hey,you don’t like Tool, your choice. I can live with that. Like me,maybe someday you’ll hear a song you like, then listen to others.(By Tool)
ok dustin you are forgiven. i guess i should have respected the fact you dont like tool. hey i dont like metallica. no biggie. peace.
Thirty-eight years young, sir. I like to think I am still pretty Hip", lol. Hey, I am thirty -eight, 6-3, 225lbs. with 17 inch guns (cold) and rock out to Tool, Drowning Pool, and Disturbed, so can I get a few props?
Herc
There are a few Tool songs that I can live with. ‘Prison Sex’ and ‘Sober’ would be good workout songs.
Sadly, Metallica has really gotten away from their roots so to speak. Plus they have no bassist and are still making an album, which is hilarious.
To Herc: "Impressive"- Darth Vadar
I just started listening to Disturbed they kick ass. Is Prayer on a new album they have coming out cause it was not on the sickness?
Time for me to sing some real badass music:
“Blame it on the rain yeah eee yah. Cause the rain don’t mind…and the rain don’t care you goto blame it on something…” I actually like that song. No flames please. ![]()
hey guys i was in best buy and saw a cd entitled “a string tribute to tool.” does anyone know anything about this? bascially it was almost a tool-unplugged album, with a full orchestra, and im guessing maynard still on vocals.
Save your money on the orchestra CD. It’s only sting instruments with no singing. It gets boring really soon.
Hey JC#10
Man Tool almost never leaves my cd player(for what, 8 or 9 years now?) , and i can relate to exactly how ya feel. I am just sorry there are others who can not truley appreciate or understand or even have these feelings. Almost feels like my insides will explode every single time. Anyway regarding the string tribute, thats what it is, no vocals and no full orchestra. Mostly cello, not many others and no percussion.
Sledge
Yes, prayer is on their new album(sept. 17th is the release, last i heard at least). Even though I don’t think they’re an outstanding band, some of their music is pretty good…and I think this song is by far their best yet.
Thanks. I like “the game” I think thats the name of the song. Prayer is a great song. ![]()
YES! Tool rules! I love the songs Grudge and Lateralus so friggin much. It makes me want to pound those weights out like there is no tommorrow!
fucking pimp…my concert is tonight…my wallet got stolen last night. no tool for mrcold this time around.
Well, I am a fan of a big tool…hahaha. Sorry, I really tried to let that one go…
hell yeah! got me some tickets to the show when they come to denver (boulder) on october 11th.
My girlriend is a big tool fan, hence our successful relationship. I think she likes my eyes too
