Thoughts on Collective Guilt

“Far too many black people don’t feel good about themselves, and are constantly looking for answers from somebody else. That quest for the impossible has been turned into an accusation against the invisible but all-powerful white racist establishment. Michelle and Barack Obama were indoctrinated with those toxic beliefs at Princeton and Harvard, so that they are now making more than a million bucks a year, living in a mansion in Chicago while still feeling sorry for themselves. Give me a break. (Michelle Obama’s salary increased by almost 200,000 dollars in one year at the University of Chicago. How many people get that kind of raise?)”

You mean the way whites call it “punishment” or “collective guilt” when the prospect of giving up unfair advantages comes up? That kind of feeling sorry for themselves?[/quote]

How does busting your ass to get your Masters, working in a factory at night to get your BA during the day, being faithful to your wife (the mother of my 3 wonderful kids), and dressing like a civilized being constitute ‘unfair advantages’?

And just so the myth of my being a racist can continue: not one of the black men on the loading dock did anything like I did. For all I know, they’re still there. That makes me guilty and a racist, I guess. Jeeeezzzzzzzzzzz…

Attention, my black fellow Americans: if you want respect, earn it. I don’t give the unearned. Get off your fat asses and get an education/job!!

And you think replying to his posts is any better? If he is such an idiot - ignore him.

You are as much to blame for the downward spiral of this thread as anyone.

Stay on topic.

He knows that respect has to be earned, not given as a gift. He knows that hard work is one of the requirements to earn respect.

It bothers him that I feel no guilt whatever because most black teens don’t bother to graduate high school; that I feel no guilt because 70 to 80% of black children are born sans daddy-at-home.

Naming facts is racist to some…yeah…

Anyway, yeah I’m an idiot. I won’t post anymore in this thread. But most whites are like me and feel no guit because some people are lazy or too stupid to use a condom.
