Thomas Incledon's Protein Needs Sufficient?

In "The Get-Big Diet for Bodybuilders, Thomas Incledon says that even strength-trained men need only 0.8 grams of protein for each pound of body weight. Although he admits that it is common for people to just skip the math and go ahead with the simple 1 gram per pound, is this really true, that no more than 0.8 is really needed in order to gain muscle? Thanks.

Yeah I would say so. Tom really knows his stuff. Most studies ive seen show that 1.8 grams of protein per KILOGRAM (in capitols to highlight its kgs not lbs not because im yelling) of body mass is the upper limit where it is useful to stength/mass gains.
I think this works out to about 0.8 grams per pound.
There may be other reasons to have a higher protein (keep body fat down, limit carbs, thermic effect of protein etc).
