What happened there?
Haha I spent the better part of a couple hours finding that out today. Go read the what happened to T-Vixen thread. Start at the beginning and go to the bathroom first. Oh also bring popcorn.

Agreed, that shit was amazing.
And how was the popcorn?

Can’t complain, except I have nothing to bill my morning to now. I was at work for 7 hours, and might have gotten 3 worth of work done.

Oh wow, I fail.
That joke is funny, but I missed it the first time…

How about you save us all a couple of hours by writing a brief summary of what happened?

I hear ya. I’m about ready to start posting in PWI and that never works well
Wanna have an abortion argument?
(I kid I kid!)
Oh fuck. The PWI forum is like walking into some parallel universe. Sometimes I go in there just to see what’s going on. It’s just a meeting place for like-minded paranoiacs who are all convinced Obama is the lovechild of Che Guevara and Joseph Stalin. Don’t go there. All your worst fears about America will be confirmed.
People point to the 09ers as being a bad class. For me the worse thing that has happened to this forum is the smartest, most interesting posters have all left. That list includes Dollarbill, Varquineer, Neform, Zap, Boston Barrister (damn that guy could brew coffee), a few others I’m sure I’m forgetting. That kid Klip was a riot. I’m not including him as one of the smartest, but he was entertaining.
Welcome back DB.
Yeah, I know guys, I’m homo. Uhuhuhuh at least we still have Debra. There, you see, I’m ok.

No shit, how about some Cliff’s Notes, I hate it when I miss the unfolding of a shit storm only to realize the thread is so huge that it’s almost insurmountable to play catch up.
I agree with the “calm before the storm.” This place is about get crazy as hell after the New Year. The intellect is slowing seeping away from T-Nation.
I would have been posting more, but I’ve been hosting a three day lecture called “Pillars of Excellence: Synergizing your Energy AND Energizing your Synergy” on Richard Branson’s private hovercraft. Guests include Michael Phelps, Lance Armstrong, Warren Buffett…and Branson himself (guy has been so busy with his “Virgin Space” campaign that he called me up for a little motivation). After this is finished I’ll be chilling in French Polynesia with a bunch of Czech runway models.
(Reality: Sits on couch, opens crappy “Asahi Super Dry” beer, turns on TV. “ALF” is on the foreign network. Fucking ALF.)
I’ve been contemplating leaving for good for a while - it’s not the same anymore:
I used to love PWI for the heated, but normally well argued debates. Artw is right wrt the kookiness. There’s no balance anymore, and most liberal - or should I say non-right wing - posters have left, which leads to the forum being a sounding board (with one poster at some point having started almost every second thread), rather than a forum without the necessary plurality of views.
A lack of moderation led to some proper shit being posted virtually unchallenged - a thanks to the mods though to finally take out clip11’s pro-rape thread.
With SAMA - yeah, saw the show. I’m not surprised - I think what we’ve seen here is a bit of a cultural shift, with the Facebook generation swooping in, and bringing their customs to our shores. No wonder most of the female posters started retreating.
All in all, I suppose it’s how sites develop when their appeal widens. This isn’t the community of strength training enthusiasts with a wider range of interests anymore that it was in the early noughties - it’s a successful commercial site with a changing audience.
What’s to be done? I don’t believe in separation and controlling debate by users, so I still don’t support retreating into user moderated T-Cells. It may be time to just get with the times and either like the new culture here, or move on. I’ve been sitting on the fence for a long time - and maybe it’s time to get my butt on the move.
