When you brake, how hard you brake, how much G-Force you can handle, your driving lines, how much you open the throttle, how long you can conserve fuel, how you handle different tires, how long you can make the tires last, how well you can control your car, how you handle understeer or oversteer, how well you can handle traffic, how well you can pass. These are a lot of factors that very few people can be good at that allow them to win.
Now for the team, there are a few things: how well you can apply downforce and reduce drag, how well you can tune your engine, and how good your pit strategy and pit stops are also help win a race.
