I don’t want to say anything about any of the episodes I didn’t like - I don’t want to bias you one way or another, but there’s another one, besides the pig fucking one, that was very meh to me … well, two other ones actually
I thought the bike one (with the contest) was meh. Not bad, but not as good as the others.
15 million credits? The one with Bing? I liked that one…
Ya, that’s the one (15M Credits). I thought it was alright. The main dude was creepy as fuck, though.
How about Waldo? I didn’t care for that one particularily.
You guys seem to be talking about something that is soon to be a reality in china, I saw this a day or two ago:
It’s funny you say that because I just saw this while I was looking up some of the titles. That’s fucking crazzzzy stuff.
Part of what makes the show so good is that I can see it being a reality in the future. The theme of every episode hits homes. It’s a very good show.
I actually stopped watching “Arkangel”. With two young kids, it was freaking me out a little bit.
In before they name it like a 1984 themed “Department of Sincerity”. I’ll bet Xi Jinping gets a score of 11. Also starting a business to “fix your citizen score now!”
The Chinese government is pitching the system as a desirable way to measure and enhance “trust” nationwide and to build a culture of “sincerity”. As the policy states, “It will forge a public opinion environment where keeping trust is glorious. It will strengthen sincerity in government affairs, commercial sincerity, social sincerity and the construction of judicial credibility.”
That’s one of the other ones I could do without … I thought it was boring and … rushed(?) … I didn’t like it
Nah I liked that one - I can totally see this being a thing and yes, it’s an exercise in unintended consequences…(intrusive governmental entity that has your ‘best interest’ at heart).
I’ll finish it, I thought she was gonna end up abducted or something…
*Can definitely see it being a thing for sure.
Yea, I’d recommend finishing that one up … especially since you’re a parent - I think you’ll see it from a few difference perspectives
Unfortunately, it’s also thr first episode and I have to say it was so silly, I didn’t watch another.
The video game episode and the dance for me or whatever, holy fuck balls.
I just about stopped after the first one too, but the rest is worth it, entirely different. Not sure if it’s the case now, but for a while Netflix would put the most recent season at the top, kind of backwards to how it’s usually done. Almost as if they knew there’d be a much lower rate of people continuing the show if they just watch the one that takes roughly an hr just for a guy to… you know.
This all has my trying to strategize kiddo-free time to watch more of these… but just barely making it through season one of Banshee (thought I’d bring that up since this is a lifting forum, the guy just killed someone with a 45lb plate…)
Back to the thread topic, when a meeting finishes early and they say something like “guess we’ll give you back 15 minutes of your day” or something stupid like that. That is not what has happened, you’ve simply only wasted 45 minutes of my day rather than 60. Let’s get that straight.
They still do it this way. I watched season 4 first…
Speaking of business jargon - “develop a compelling story” … I mean this is my bread and butter, but I find that phrase to be redundant and obvious…
Dude, I fucking hate this.
“Here your year over year variance. Okay, now let’s work on the story we want to tell.” You wanna spend $2M more than last year sounds like you wanna craft a fantasy.
