Yep, the workplace can get lonely quickly and the good jobs don’t go to the miserable grumps haha
When a nice cigar has a leak in the wrapper.
Pretty much ruins the damn thing.
I hate when i have to fart but end up shitting my pants instead
This is what I call a daily issue
People who leave pointless reviews.
e.g. 1 star review for weightlifting shoes because ‘The sole is too hard’. That’s the damn point!
It irritates me when people make assumptions, without even attempting to read through logs. I get it. Thousands of posts, probably a waste of time, but there is a summary option on here that condenses a months worth of reading into 100 posts. Just saying.
But I don’t like hard things okay…
That’s what she said.
sorry…had to do it…
Walked into work today. I’m liquidating this business, I got hired a year ago and then they subsequently lost all their customers, huge layoffs, selling the building… all that fun stuff.
The GM (who caused all this through his lack of effort) has his feet up on his desk and is asleep already.

By the time our kids start elementary school, my wife and I will have spent over $150k on daycare all so that we can go to work to make money…
Exactly why we kept the wife home. Also she didn’t want 18yo snot nosed girls raising our kids. They’re only babies once.
having our first incubating as we speak - this is disconcerting.
So is that over 5 years or 6?
That’s for 2.
It might be slightly less than that. We pay $28k/year now that both are there. That’s really just an estimate since my oldest has been there for 2 years already, but I bet it’s pretty close.
@Basement_Gainz Ya, would be nice, but we’d take a pretty big hit if one of us stayed home. $28k/year sucks donkey balls, but we both make good money (she makes more than me).
*I think they’ll go for 5 years, but it might only be 4 (I think they do pre-school there).
I think most people we’ve talked to in our area pay around $1,000/month/kid.
We’ve been looking into early education - there’s a Catholic school in our town that offers day care/preK starting at 3 years old which is about $500/month - but then we have to figure out holidays and summer and shit. Grandparents on both sides are close and available if need be which is nice as an option…
Plus my sister works 2 days during the work week and has offered to watch the little guy if need be. But between us, that’s an almost last resort.
$1,000/month per kid is pretty good. It’s not much more here (I think we were paying $250/week for 1), but in some of the surrounding counties it’s more like $1,500+/month so we’re actually pretty lucky.
We’ve talked about Catholic school as well. I’m not a huge fan of it tbh (I’m not Catholic. She is), but we’ll see. I’m not sure what our local parish offers, though. I know they have a school.
I hear you on the family, lol, but it is nice when you’re in a bind.
relatively speaking sure - we’re looking into a couple early childhood care facilities in town that offer a little more of an educational bend than just daycare … my sister’s kids go to a day care only facility - judging by the results I’m seeing from them, I’m going somewhere else.
The lady who runs it seems over extended and all of her kids have behavioral issues - not sure from where, but that’s a factor. Love my nieces and nephews, but I can’t ignore how they act.
I like to hear stories about how other parts of the country fair … gives me more of a perspective and helps to manage my expectations.
How’d y’all do with yesterday’s storm? Saw on the news MD was in a state of emergency?
Thats definitely NOT what she said ![]()
I hear you, man. We go through Celebree http://www.celebree.com/ I’ve actually been really impressed with how well the center is run and how much my oldest has learned there.
I would not use an at home care center at this point. We had considered it when my oldest needed a place to go and it’s way cheaper, but the difference in the environment is huge.
We can tell how much more developed Luke is vs. his cousins that are around the same age and I’m pretty convinced it’s because of Celebree.
I think the eastern shore got hit pretty hard. We got about an inch where I’m at. Roads were slick but drivable.
*In all actuality the cost does suck, but it’s well worth the money, imo.
Wouldn’t say this necessarily pisses me of, per se, but I can’t think of a better thread to post this in nor does it warrant a new thread. It’s not that interesting, even to me, who’s posting it; it’s more of an annoyance ex post facto:
When I have a question or statement in reply to some other question or statement in a thread or conversation, I start typing it out and going through my logic for the question/statement only to get to a point where I answer my own question or know how my statement will be replied to to the point it’s not really worth any more of my time to keep typing or post my reply.
It’s annoying because I spent some time thinking about it and making some sort of effort typing the shit out. Like I wasted brain power and effort only to foil myself. Fuck. Ok, Maybe it DOES piss me off a little.
I think you and my partner would get along lol
We recently got engaged and people just assume I proposed (she did) drives her fucking nuts
