Things That Piss You Off

Warm weather. I wish it felt like fall

I understand not liking hot weather… but warm?

I really don’t like temps above 65-70 F

let’s trade.

I’d take 110F over 40F any day

Note: this is not a ā€œgrass is greenerā€ argument.
I grew up in places where 40+C with 90+% humidity is the norm in summers

My current location’s weather is not much better than that for about half the year, so I don’t feel like I would be trading that much. 40 F is balmy. I’ve experienced -50 F before.

40F is thick down coat, face cover and gloves weather for me.

Mid January is going to be interesting.

We already know you don’t like the weather in ā€œpissburghā€. Next comes ā€œfrozen pissburrrrrgh.ā€.

I distinctly remember walking to CVS with my friend, almost slipping on ice, stepping into sleet and having ice in my socks from said sleet

Slush. Sometimes it actually falls just like that. Frozen but wet.

You need galoshes. And a babushka.

40F can definitely be good.

-50F is bad no matter how you slice it.
Worst wind chill I experienced before was -55F I believe. That stuffs a different level of cold. I am usually good down to about 10F.

Polar vortex from a couple years ago? That’s when I experienced that low of a temperature. Fun times. I remember walking home the night it emerged, and my legs were so cold when I got inside that it felt like they were burning.

I always like to brag that my town is, literally, considered one of the coldest towns in the country (we’re talking top 10 here), and for one day during a particularly cold snap a while back, we were the coldest place on earth. And I still had to do my paper route that morning.

Haha, getting your dad stories ready, I see. Although in today’s world ā€œpaper routeā€ almost sounds grandpa-story-like.

I’m currently feeling miffed about warm days (yesterday was around 65F, I think). The leaves have changed, so I shouldn’t have to take my sweater off to be comfortable at the office. We’re having an Applefest at my house on Saturday - we’ll pick the apples (6 trees), use my husband’s new apple press to make cider, do hay rides on the tractor/lawnmower, and bob for apples.

If I’m not wearing jeans and a sweater or hoodie for this, I’ma be pissed.

For a career fair, me and other people managed to get over 10 companies signed up. Such a great selection too. The number of students who signed up is 8 and it’s pissing me tf off. Those companies are probably excited to meet my school’s students and out of everyone in my major, 8 people signed up for a fucking career fair

I haven’t quite tried everything in my power to get them to attend but I’ve done a lot. It’s more frustrating cause it makes no sense. We need an internship to graduate and I’m sure everyone wants a job in the field once they graduate. Well there’s your damn ticket bro, a career fair!

oh man, that’s tough

What time was/ is it at? might conflict with classes or lunch break

Not sure why (and this should be in the ā€œMakes me Chuckleā€ thread) but this conversation reminds me of my time in high school.

I wasn’t in honors classes (except in history) but in the course called ā€œCollege Prep Iā€ which, judging by my first stint at college, failed to live up to its branding.

It’s 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Yeah… that’s a bad time.

Classes

It’s not. You can drop in any time.
