Things That Piss You Off

My wife used to ask me why I don’t exercise this ā€œbenefitā€ being a veteran. I point her to these type of horror stories.

To this day, I have never heard a positive experience with the VA.

That’s weird. HOW DOES HE FEEL ABOUT ALL CAPS?

I feel like people are screaming when they type in all caps.

On a message board, yes. However, sometimes, in my job, I type in all caps when writing code and will IM a colleague in all caps … there’s an understanding there … but generally, yea, if it’s in all caps I assume that person has their undies tied tight

How does this differ from ā€œundies in a bunchā€

Probably doesn’t - call it regional variation … like, soda, pop, coke

To me, in a bunch implies wedged up your ass crack. Tight is just tight.

For a man, this might feel a bit different.

Both scenarios explain why someone might be pissy though. And it’s very understandable.

At this point I can’t decide which would be worse.

I think tight would attack from both sides…

Nor I.

I am very much in favor of giving every veteran a Blue Cross Blue Shield (or whatever) card and calling it good. Make the deductible higher for higher income, small (but not ā€œnoā€ because there are plenty of bullshitter ex-vets) deductible for service-related injuries.

The VA opens up to the public (and it does do good things for acute care, like limbs and burns) and either survives like any other hospital or it doesn’t. The good parts would get bought by some other hospital if it fails.

Honestly, I don’t know how he avoids his phone and computer from automatically capitalizing.

Here’s one.

My brother broke his neck in 1988 while at home on leave. Since that time he has received an excellent standard of care from people that are not just good at their job, but after getting to know them, truly good people. He has had numerous surgeries and treatments as a quadruplegic, all of which were taken care of promptly and professionally. Anything that was outside of the realm or capabilities of the docs at the hospital was sent to UPMC.

Also-A few friends and I volunteer for a charity/non profit run through the VAs office of vocational rehab teaching vets in their long term care facility how to build rods, tie flies, and take them out fishing once a month (weather permitting).

If you want something good to happen sometimes you just gotta make it happen.

My buddy is one of the top doctors in his field, gets requests from ā€œVIPsā€ all the time. He’s with a teaching hospital, but works part of the time at the VA. He can’t be the only one. (this is the Bay Area)

Luck of the draw I guess.

being in danger of catching a sexual harassment charge because i didnt flirt back with two girls from a christian youth group and their fathers got their phones and want to get the cops involved even though they have zero proof of any inappropriate texts i sent them (because i didnt) and i have proof of inappropriate texts they sent me that i didn’t respond to.

thinking i’m gonna go ahead and grab my once-in-a-lifetime million dollar defamation lawsuit.

again, so many true christians out there :latin_cross:
