Damn, that brought back memories. I do remember thinking I needed to bulk up to at least get as big as him.
Damn I was small.
Truth be told, if he would have had his head on right back then, he would have probably owned a more significant spot in music.
yeah i really like mark wahlberg. i think i first took note of him in “the yards” with james caan and joaquin pheonix and that was the first time i saw charlize theron also.
i’ve only seen donnie in a short lived cop show my friend has on dvd called “boomtown”. he was awesome in that. if you see this check it out. it’s easily one of the best shows i’ve seen from tv. there’s another actor on that show named “neil mcdonough” who 's character is just unbelievably on edge. even more than first season sipowicz.
mark w. was awesome in departed. i liked that movie but i didn’t think it was all that. there were some real issues with integrity and character development…and nicholson’s death scene was downright shatner-esque, to put it kindly.
that movie had some really great scenes, more than most, but it wasn’t a great movie. i feel the same about it as i do something like “reservoir dogs”.
Evidently, Mark Wahlberg is going to be in a movie upcoming called, “The Fighter” which is about Micky Ward (a hero of mine). I’m looking forward to it.
Matt Damon is going to play his brother, I think.
Well, thanks for that flashback into my teen years. You got New Kids On The Block on youtube somewhere, too? (I’m probably gonna go look myself. Yeah. I was a fan.)
The 90’s were weird.
The first time I saw Mark act was in Fear and it freaked me out. He was GOOD. I haven’t followed much of either’s acting career, but I have to give them props because they both came from some cheesy music groups and have obviously done very well for themselves in Hollywood.
No apologies, guys…always have and always will Love the Movies…
I agree with those who feel that the Wahlberg Brothers are part of the “next Generation” of solid Hollywood performers…and the title “legend” is something that is in their hands.
I say this because I think that the key for them now is in their selection of roles. Both Mark and Donnie have a solid resume; their acting ability is unquestioned; they are a financial “draw”; and they create great chemistry in either dual or ensemble roles.
If they stay healthy; avoid the “pitfalls” that destroy great talent; pick great roles; and stay “hungry”, I think that we will see some great performances from “The Brothers Wahlberg” in the future.

i agree but not with the “legend” part. not that they don’t have the talent or the work ethic but the conditions aren’t right to create larger than life legends like brando, or john wayne, or clint eastwood.
our current a.d.d. culture of hyper-entertainment won’t let it happen; there’s too much choice and distraction available. with that much babel he who would be king cannot.
I think Donnie has more depth.
Is Donnie as ripped as Mark?
Mark seems to have pretty fucking good genetics considering he got pretty ripped while in the hole. Obviously, if Donnie is his brother, he has the same genetics but I’m just wondering if his physique is even close to Marks.

Yeah, but as a once young punk, one doesn’t always make the best decisions. He probably thought he was on top of the world during his Marky Mark years. I think many would have made the same decisions. I doubt he knew he had a solid acting career ahead of him.
I don’t really judge the actor by being outwardly ripped, but inwardly.
True Story.
Mark Wahlberg called me a few weeks ago right as I was ready to go hit the gym. I knew it was him from the start but he kept playing it off using a sexy female voice and claiming to be named Heidi. That bastard was using a trace buster so I couldn’t track him but little did he know I had a trace buster-buster.

Good call. Mark Wahlberg was starting to get way too much respect in this thread for becoming an accomplished actor.
I’m glad you brought us back to what’s important by posting a picture of him grabbing his junk. Nicely done.
I don’t think that I’ve read much on The Brothers “running away” from their “New Kids/Marky Mark” past.
They were successful at what they did, and have moved on.

I agree…He’s the perfect example of some of the dumb shit we all do when we’re young…But then come out from all of that crap just fine.
