Ninety-three percent of the abortions in America are for convenience. The mother’s health is an issue only three percent of the time, and the baby’s health is an issue only three percent of the time. Rape or incest are issues only one percent of the time. Ninety-three percent of all abortions in America are performed just because someone doesn’t want a child!

Why? You are not alive until you are born. How can you be murdered if you are not yet alive? The potential for life and actual life are two different things.
Since we don’t seem to care about what happens to the fetus during the pregnancy–or for that matter, after it–why do we care if a woman decides she doesn’t want to give birth to it? A fetus is not an independent life. It is a maturing cell and until it is born it cannot be deemed worthy of life.
Character and class are nothing more than convention and self-censorship. Self-censorship is the worst kind.
You have continued to demonstrate yourself as nothing more than a cartoon. But hey, that is what free speech is for - I never said otherwise.
Well, I can’t say for sure - I am not a neo-con and what distinguishes a “neo-con” from another other kind of “con” is their attitudes on foreign policy, so your statement makes little sense on its face.
That said, I hope your students take you seriously - no one around here does.

Wow, internet threats…now I’m infamous. Just so you know it doesn’t accomplish anything to make these kinds of threats unless you want people to know what a douche bag you are.
Free speech doesn’t mean anything in your world does it? All the BS about how great the military is for defending our “rights” that pours out of your mouth is just rhetoric which you don’t even believe. You are the worst kind of liar.
That wasn’t a threat at all, it was an observation. I never mentioned me actually doing it or anything of the sort. Get your facts straight, huh? If you feel threatened be me over the internet that’s your problem.
EDIT: Actually it was just a question. You feel threatened by a question?
Free speech? Did I infringe on your right to free speech in any way or are you just paranoid?
How can I be a liar if I truly believe in protecting your right to be a dickhead at all times?
No, you’ve got me all wrong (what a surprise!). I totally support you and your right to free speech. Even if you are the hipocrite that get’s offended at my initial observation.

I do not believe that abortion is murder. Yes, it results in the death of a human, but equating abortion with homicide is the same as equating ordering a hamburger at McDonalds with stabbing your neighbors dog (since both result in the death of an animal).
Abortion is a woman exercising her right to govern her own body. Unfortunatly, as it stands now, there is no way for the unborn child to continue living without the support of her body. I’m an advocate of finding a way to make this happen, thus protecting the rights of both the woman and the child.
Yes, fucking means risking pregnancy, the same way driving means risking a car accident, the same way playing sports means risking injury, the same way eating means risking choking. Just because an action has some inherent risks does not mean you have no alternative than to “Deal with the consequences of your actions!” should risk become reality.
And please… be fucking serious… you’re suggesting that being pro-choice is genetic? Do you think all opinions on every matter are genetic, or just this opinion on this matter?
LOL!!! Are you serious! Did you just say this as a counter argument? I can’t stop laughing.
I got what I wanted out of you. You admit abortions terminate a human life. I ain’t gonna argue whether or not taking a human life is a worth while endevour for what ever reason.

Wrong. Unborn babies are alive before they are born. I must assume you are not a father nor have ever been close to a pregnant woman.

What do you mean we don’t care? As a nation we spend a fortune on prenatal care. We do research on reducing birth defects. We urge pregant women not to smoke.
You really are way off on this one.
By the way a fetus is not a cell. It is a small human made up of cells.
Good to know ‘character’ and ‘class’ aren’t required for a teaching job.

I believe in free speach. Anyone can say anything stupid that they want to. And just waht is wrong with working for McDonald’s? In your political/economic model they should get paid as little as proffesors, teachers and doctors and are just as valuable.

So why is killing a pregnant woman a double homicide.
Oh yea, does it matter when the kid is born, 9 months, what about 7, or 6 are they less human then, what about 5 month terms?

Well, considering that a great many McDonald’s employees - especially in urban areas - are black, perhaps Lifticus, unencumbered by convention of course, could just have a widespread abortion of blacks and save them all the trouble?

So you’re in agreement with the remaining 7%?
Out of curiosity, let’s say that abortion is made illegal and that there is no way to get even an illegal one.
What do you propose to do with all those unwanted children?
Miami, FL (AHN) - After nearly four months in the hospital, Amillia Taylor – the most premature baby born in US history – is going home.
Amillia was born in a Miami hospital after spending little more than 22 weeks in her mother’s womb. She weighed only 10 ounces (284 grams) and was no longer than a ballpoint pen when she was born on October 24.
Doctors did not believe Amillia would survive but her parents said she was a miracle. Because of her strength and awesome will to live, her parents named her Amillia – which means resilient in Latin.
The University of Iowa keeps track of all premature babies born in the US. According to their records, Amillia survived the shortest gestation period than any other baby in US history.
Amillia is scheduled to go home on Tuesday after being closely monitored 24 hours a day at Baptist Children’s Hospital in Miami since birth. Although she now weighs about 4 lbs, she will still be monitored from home. She will need asthma medication and extra oxygen for the next couple months.

A fetus is not a life. It cannot live on its own. It cannot breathe on its own. Your definition proves me correct. I said it does not have life. Therefore not alive. Unborn–not alive.
You want to distinguish a human fetus because you consider it “human” and therefore worthy of some higher moral laws. That is fine. I am merely pointing out that life begins at birth.
Is a seed alive? Is a germinated seed alive? We normally don’t consider it a living plant until it shoots thru the soil and we can see the tiny cotyledons. Why are humans any different in relation to nature?
To answer your question I am not a biologist. I am a physicist but I also investigate the world of natural philosophy which covers all the sciences.

I’m saying abortion is performed almost exclusively because it was “bad timing” to get pregnant. I just wanted to dispell the oft-cited “rape/incest” excuse. It’s because people were just too fucking lazy to bear the “burden” of a child. Having a child involves many sacrifices.
Unwanted children? How many? Do you know the numbers? If so, compare those numbers to those who would love to concieve and cannot. Most if not all of those people would adopt if the process wasn’t so fucked up.

As long as they are not poor. Health care isn’t a right in this country. Sure, we spend tons of money on informational pamphlets but if the mother can’t read them they don’t do any good.
Again, you are mixing the potential for life with actual life. A fetus is not a life.

How much time have you spent in an OB-GYN office? None apparently. I know first hand that the poor recieve every ounce of care that anyone else recieves. Plus, everything is written in Spanish, English and Portugese. If you speak another language they work to get a translator in person or on the phone. Please stop writing about those things you know nothing about.

Shit, was she a fetus or a life? Hmmmmm, one minute she was legally abortable and the next she was outside the womb alive with the assistance of all sorts of tubes and sensors and a team of doctors and nurses, she must’ve been one of them non-living babies!

Yikes! You need to go back to school.
life ?noun
the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.

So, now your a capitolist?
A new born can’t live on it’s own either. It’s just no tied in with an umbilical cord. If you just leave it in the middle of a room for a day or two, it will die. You obviously have no children. Hell, even a two year old wouldn’t live long left to it’s own devices.
Is a kid born at 8 months less human than a kid born at 9?
