Were you expecting me to type something about a saturday stroll down madison avenue?
That would be more consistent with your prior posts. Good for you having $55,000 to gamble on a single stock for 5 days. With that kind of free cash, I’m surprised you don’t have a house already.
lol what prior posts? The one where i told someone where to get a certain pair of jeans?
And i didnt have a spare 55k. Stock was bought using full margin available.
Even better, you’re a student with a margin account and you borrowed up to half of the $55,000 to gamble on a single stock for 5 days.
The shit gets awfully deep around here.
What, I thought $20k gains in five days were par for the course?
gsxtacy: If we assume for the sake of discussion that you’re telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, then I would say that while it’s possible that you’re going to become a filthy rich investor in the future, it’s much more likely that you were merely blind-ass lucky this time around.
In short, don’t get cocky. If it happened the way you say it happened, then you hit a grand slam; don’t play it off like it was no big deal and that you can easily reproduce similar results.[/quote]
I was merely responding to a previous post about how this group of people had not learned about “deferred gratification”. Therefor I went onto explain that after profiting off this endeavour, I was setting aside the money for something I will need later in life, and therefor will appreciate it all the more when i get it. Thus showingg that previous posters assumption was incorrect.
I really dont have any reason to lie about any of this. But this is the internet and everything is doubted. You may also want to check a prior post of mine in a thread about investing, about making a few thousand shorting general electrics earnings. If i was trying to act like a big shot, wouldnt all my umbers be extremely high.
Im also pretty positive I never said I could easily reproduce it, or that the market wasnt especially lucky for me in thos days prior, I just defended myself when someone said I hadnt looked at any risks and just randomly picked some chinese solar stock out of the 5 or so that had earnings calls that week. I evaluated a stock, so a good entry point and held until I felt it was good to sell. Im also holding about 1200 shares of sirius radio bought at 3.76 a share, so I am well aware of what it is for something to not work out.
I also have no interest in being an investor aside from the occasional bit of day trading. Im going into investor relations. Being able to spin why a company lost someones pension in the market should be an interesting job.
