No way man. This was just phase one (calling it). This SCOTUS nomination will leak into the midterms in some way or another. It’s just too easy

Probably. But you have to remember the GOP controls all 3 branches of the fed, and the large majority of governor/state legislature.
They can force it easily enough, but they’re already eating a ton of crow in some states like and can’t really afford too much bad PR. With how strong the Dems have been with a minority, they know they can’t afford to be losing battles and risk tipping them into majority territory.
No way it leaks into the mid-terms unless she testifies and actually produces something to base an investigation on. If this reaches the mid-terms, and the Dems come out well, the seat will sit vacant for at least 2 years.
Right now there seems to be no evidence of this party even happening. Everybody mentioned cannot even corroborate there was a party. That’s a problem.

You mean simply as an issue? If she doesn’t testify soon, this story loses steam. She’s being offered private/public settings, female staff posing the questions, etc. Don’t forget this could very soon blow the heck up in the Democrats’ faces. We’ve now had everyone named, including just a simple attendee and potential witness to Kavanaugh’s and Fords attendance, deny they were even at such a party.

Which is awesome. But in the only way that matters, you absolutely support and encourage the partisan games. And it’ll never matter enough to top your 1-3 issues and sway your vote.

Oh I think the GOP will force the vote. But that doesn’t mean it still won’t be part of the conversation. I think making the GOP force the vote will BE the conversation.

There is zero reason to give this any more attention until she provides evidence. And I mean just as simple as “The party happened in _______ of ____ at _______ house. My friend _____ can corroborate this.”
We shall see. I don’t think so, if events continue as they are. I think it will begin to reverse, and perhaps completely blow up in their face.
