Unless you were black, a woman, Chinese, Indian, etc. So they didn’t exactly believe that.
Does a child have the right to date whomever she wants?
Sorry. To be clear, not necessarily a minor. The question I asked was meant to include adult offspring who are at the age of consent/majority.
No, you don’t understand correctly. I’m saying that believing God does not exist or not believing that God exists are not beliefs, or to be more specific, beliefs in something. If it helps, believe is a verb, belief is a noun.
You also might want to look at A and B, then look at WXYZ, then look at:
I think you confused yourself. A and B contain one negative each. “Doesn’t believe that God doesn’t exist” contains two.
Only, it isn’t a belief. It’s the absence of belief.
Or is based on what one perceives or assumes or believes what the other person is?
Did the baker discriminate because the couple was gay or because of a belief about gays?
So the good news is neither Kavanaugh nor SCOTUS will be tasked with ruling on whether God exists or not. ![]()
They don’t exactly teach that.
Are you trying to say something, hmm?
Ok, ok. Someone roll out the train derailment pics. Mom and Dad are home. Gosh!
It doesn’t require the thing to exist conceptually so if someone never heard of God or religion he could still believe in a Universe that someone who is aware of the concept of God would call Godless only he wouldn’t say that since he never heard of God. Thus, his absence of belief in God wouldn’t be a belief in God’s non-existence since again, he never heard of God.
You’re being optimistic.
Do you believe that God doesn’t exist?
I make it a point to not talk about my religious beliefs or lack thereof. Spirituality is a personal thing in my opinion. The world would be a better place if more people felt that way.
Do you have to spiritual/religious beliefs though to worry about?
Why?
Even if your spiritual and religious experiences are personal and not something that you would want to share openly, there are others who feel differently. Why does the world get better if they change their minds?
I was an altar boy; I have a get out of hell free card.
I should have been clearer. It’s not that one can’t or shouldn’t share their beliefs; it’s understanding that one’s beliefs are more about how he lives and not how others live. If you don’t believe in gay marriage, fine, don’t marry someone of the same sex. If someone else wants to, don’t stand in the way. We all make personal choices the same ways as everyone else. We are all open to the same criticisms for our choices. So bake the cake and worry about your own soul. The person who believes that baking a gay cake is a sin, worships a god that reflects his own pettiness.
Well, I have a different opinion. But, thanks.for sharing yours, really.
Ok. Nevermind.
He’s a center-right guy, from what I’ve gathered. To the right of Kennedy, slightly. He was Kennedy’s pick, according to an associate here who was also Kennedy’s law clerk.
Not a Scalia or a Thomas.
Passed muster with McCain, Collins, Murkowski, and the others.
Apparently the 50 votes has been whipped up, so Shumer (which, I again remind everyone means “scum” in Yiddish) has told the Democrats in red states to vote “yes” to pretend to be independent of the party bosses.
Bit of a statist for my taste. I’ve got too much libertarian in me. He tends to side with government too much.
I have a good friend who came in from the gym today and said “Man, I was sweating like a hunch-backed altar boy”. Don’t know why it was so funny, but it was.
