At the same time, isn’t this pretty much saying “yeah, it is about the 2016 election?” I mean, no matter who Trump puts up, that would be the assertion. Therefore, it all comes back to anger over the election. In which case, Kavanaugh simply pointed out what everyone knew, he was opposed from the very. start. He was going to be evil and dangerous before Ford ever stepped forward.
Further, I’m not sure what’s so hard to believe about the sincerity of his emotions. We know there were credible threats against his family–his children and his wife. Having senators refer to you as evil, dangerous, etc. did nothing to help, and likely fed some of the kooks. Is it so hard to believe he might genuinely felt like letting them know how he felt about their irresponsible rhetoric?
They do, don’t they? The outrage of the day strategy might work for a day or a news cycle, but in the longer term actions that shape our country Republicans are absolutely trouncing the Dems.
That’s been my de-facto attitude towards politics for most of my adult life, at least once I realized that I’m a conservative. I try to filter out the noise, give my votes as much consideration as I can and then move on with my life.
I come out of my cave of political ambivalence occasionally. I started caring about these events when it became apparent that a good man was getting put through a Stalin-esque Kangaroo Court at the highest levels of American government. This is nothing new in American politics, I know, but something about this whole process got me really fired up. It really seems like everything is ratcheted up, with little or no consideration for common-sense or a nuanced perspective.
They lose the popular vote for president. They rig elections at the state level by how districts are drawn and through voter suppression directed at minorities. They win, but not because more Americans are buying what they are selling. They lost the ideological battle a long time ago.
Oh, they lost the pink haired fucktard vote. Boo hoo!
If the train keeps rolling, Trump is going to place another in his next term.
These little quips and queefs of yours aren’t even worth squirting out unless you can actually assemble them into a more cogent plan than orchestrated outrage that actually alienates traditional dems.
Yelling and screaming at people in elevators or when they are out with their families in restaurants…
Or yelling and screaming in Congressional hearings…the list goes on and on…
While all of it may be “exercising ones Constitutional Rights” it 1) is off-putting to many both Right AND Left (and certainly Independent), and 2) I don’t think furthers ones cause one iota (and in many cases damages it).
