Now Octavius I don’t want you dropping out of this thread just because we’ve had a little disagreement. We…the entire site that is… needs your 20 year old foreign brain to figure out the complexities of the US economy.
I think between you, the 20 year old Scot and the Austrian we can really get down to what makes America tick.
Right?

No, I think you do a good job demonstrating that denial and willful ignorance plays an important role.
And just about every time you lay down a post regarding MY country it stinks to high heaven of a jealousy. So I guess envy plays an important role in your life. Like I said, save up your austrian dollars and take a plane ride over here so you can finally be in a superior environment.

I know lots about the US economy and I’ve done pretty well financially in my life. Now let’s move on to something that should interest you:

Anyone can take advantage of bad government policy if they know what they are doing.
At best you are a good gambler. Do tell.
Isn’t that what making money is all about? Try it sometime you might like it.

The stock market is poised today to do something it has not done in over 33 years: Decline for nine straight sessions.
The last time the Dow Jones Industrial Average did that, in fact, was Feb. 22, 1978, when Jimmy Carter was president. Does a streak of nine losing sessions in a row increase the odds that the market will rise on the 10th? Unfortunately not. In more than a few of the past cases in which the market dropped that many days in a row, the market continued dropping for at least another day.
In fact, the all-time record for number of days in a row in which the Dow fell appears to be 14 - a streak that ended on Aug. 13, 1941 as the rumblings of World War II were reverberating through Wall Street.
Lots of racism in this thread. Why is it now that the stock market goes to shit and people go ethnic on Uncle Otama? If Lieberjew was president how would making jokes about him making a nice lampshade go over?
Every day seems to get more and more bizarre. Does anyone think they have any idea as to what’s going on here?
These moves just seem crazy - I was watching things all day and there were 200 point moves that took place in LESS THAN ONE MINUTE. Take a look at todays chart - DOW was down 250 points after FED announcement, gained back 160 points in minutes, then lost another 300 points in less than 10 minutes, then finished the day up 400 points from opening. Gold is through the roof, oil is in the tank. I’m only 21 with not really any money so I’m just “dispassionately” interested… Sure makes for some fun watching things unfold…
People are saying it’s the “algo” trading. Thing is though, according to BNN, that many retail investment firms announced that they saw their highest EVER recorded volume.

You’re taking things too seriously. No one is suggesting that the stock market is actual “racist” ; it’s a joke. It’s policy decisions that matter.
