That’s fine as far as it goes, but Presidents don’t pass laws and what you’re taking on in that Faustian bargain is catastrophic downside risk that the nutball invites something far worse than some “bad laws”. Congress can mitigate “bad laws” - they can’t mitigate dumb wars, economic crises brought on by catastrophe due to criminal dereliction of management duties, etc.
I’ll take “dumb laws” over a sensless war or recession.

I agree in principle, as I am and have been a China hawk for a long time. But one of the few things I agree with Trump on - China hawkishness - he can’t even do that right. His strategy was (generally) good, his tactics (being Trump, overly aggressive, untrustworthy in negotiations, flat out ignorant on policy) were terrible.
Your time is now. Although Trump may fire up the MAGA troops by insisting that “Ain’t nobody going to come into America and force us to speak English!” That said, the troops will lose interest when the new season of reality television rolls around, so it’ll be cakewalk for you redcoats.
Just spare me a small patch of ground and I’ll swear loyalty and drink all the pints of Guinness my new overlords demand.

Interesting. But some polls have Trump up in battleground states. This remains a wait and see election for me.
As this is the election thread, I think the most interesting states to watch are Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.
Those states are where the election is won or lost, imo.
God damn we’ve had this conversation numerous times recently. Talking about what the Democratic Party did way back when is beyond stupid. You know all about the fact that essentially the two sides flip flopped roles years ago. Yet this is still a right wing security blanket (Republicans freed the slaves!) as their party has become the home of white supremacists. Because why clean up the current issues with racism in your party that have been going on for decades now when you can say “hey we were cooler with blacks 100 years ago than them. Don’t forget that!”
The cool thing about our system is we already know the vast majority of results before election night for President. So our candidates will travel to the handful of states that matter multiple times and ignore all the rest.
