The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

It may make a small difference. I think it makes sense to work on more than just the biggest issues, especially if the biggest issues are not practical to change. Working on the things we can to improve equality makes sense to me.

At the same time, it needs to be stated that fixing these things isn’t going to cure the education, wealth, and crime gaps between black and white families.

Again, I think it makes sense to work on fixing the issues we can.

I don’t necessarily agree with this. To me something like easy access to multiple types of free birth control could help reduce the amount of children without fathers. I think something like this would end up reducing crime, and would improve the wealth gap, as a larger chunk of money (should be a bit larger as having less kids results in more wealth generally) would be passed down to fewer children.

We saw crime go down after Roe v Wade and IMO the economist Stephen Levitt did a good job showing causation between the two.

How do you know it wasn’t his white half that got fired?

Maybe he’s following Fauci’s lead.

If the cameras disappeared, how did he get recorded?

Perhaps he missed one. Perhaps the video title is click-bait. Seems he doesn’t follow his own recommendations though.

Was he social distancing? He also gets tested regularly. The fact he makes the effort to model appropriate behavior is more than what Trump does.

Mount Rushmore with a large Fireworks show.

Wow.

Trump may not always pull it off (like the St. John’s Church Fiasco)…but he has a nose for Optics.

During his remarks at Mount Rushmore on Friday evening, President Trump said he plans to establish, via executive order, a “National Garden of American Heroes,” which he described as “a vast outdoor park that will feature the statues of the greatest Americans to ever live.”

Oh, Boy…

Nothing remotely divisive here.

I’m sure we’ll all agree on whose statues are to be placed in the park, for sure…

“The executive order says the garden will include statues of John Adams, Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, Frederick Douglass, Amelia Earhart, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther King Jr., Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, Jackie Robinson and Harriet Tubman, among others.”

And the point is what, @doogie?

That there won’t be divisive choices? Or "Why is (name) on the list…and (name) isn’t?

Good luck.

The President who’s probably never ate a vegetable establishing a national “garden” is the funniest part.

It’s a distraction - you’re discussing statues while Covid-19 cases are rising. Trump is uniquely vulnerable to the pandemic (in a political sense) and has all to gain by focusing on the culture war.

And thanks to BLM he can even claim to be the voice of reason.

This is definitely a divisive action by Trump. You’d think after weeks of violence and looting he’d try to unify with the violent mob, like many of our mayors and governors have. Constructing new monuments to great Americans is definitely a real slap in the face to people like BLM and their enablers.

Perhaps he’d take a knee and sulk away from the mob in shame like the mayor of Minneapolis did, as the fires in the city he was charged with protecting still burned. Or perhaps he’d use tax money to endorse a Marxist political party with a message visible from space, as the mayor of NYC did. That’s what unifying leadership looks like, apparently.

I’m sure this new monument will embolden many more white supremacists to step out of the shadows and act. Any day now. Of course, nobody would make the case that Obama at any point emboldened any of these far-left terrorists to, I don’t know, step out of the shadows and act.

That would be silly. It’s not like those peaceful and tolerant Marxists are at all concerning. Don’t mind the looting and riots, keep your eye on the real threat, those unnamed white supremacists certain to begin taking action, emboldened as they are by Trump.

It’s impossible to reply to the right person anymore so god knows who this goes to lopp.

But on the 4th it’s always important to celebrate our history. And history can be confusing at times but the President’s grasp on the nation is unparalleled.

Why are you making this “either/or”, @twojarslave?

BLM and many of these protesters are divisive…and so is Trump…

He needs to concentrate on “The Wall”…

It’s not an either/or, these are deeply connected issues.

It also brings up the question where the source of the division in our country comes from. People have disagreed on policy for as long as policy has been a thing. That’s a normal part of civic life, or at least it should be. Somehow many people arrived at this idea, now pervasive in places like academia, Hollywood and most of mainstream media, that conservatives are somehow a force for evil that must be opposed by any means possible.

The process of division begins once you lose the ability or willingness to entertain the possibility that not only are you wrong, but that whoever you disagree with has good intentions in mind. Let me remind you that we’re currently in the early stages of an attempted Marxist revolution that’s seemingly being endorsed by most mainstream Democrats, not the other way around.

This is why I’m beginning to buy into division, and feeling late to the party too. If the Democrats can’t divide out these destructive Marxist elements from their own ranks, they will get over-run by them. It looks like that’s exactly what is happening in 2020. I don’t see any reason to believe that the Marxists are becoming less influential in the Democratic party or their activists in academia, Hollywood and the media. The march of ideas has been plain to see for anyone paying attention for the last few decades.

Again, think of the sheer irony of the whole white supremacist narrative. Not only were we being told they were of grave concern, emboldened by Trump, etc etc, many believed it. Yet who is it that’s not only causing violence in the streets, but getting extreme policies implemented?

It’s not white supremacists. It’s not even those awful kids from Covington Catholic who surrounded, mocked and threatened a virtuous and kind Native American man.

I’m done assuming that BLM and their enablers are just people with bad ideas about government that I don’t agree with, or just ignorant about what their endorsing. These people and their extreme ideas need to be opposed with the same vigor you would an actual white supremacist takeover of the Republican party. The Democrats are planting their feet on the wrong side of history yet again, and this latest round of divisive, hateful ideas needs to be stopped. As it has been since the founding of the Republican party, it will fall to that flawed institution to stop the evil Democrats and keep America on the path to a more perfect union.

First slavery, then the KKK, Black Codes and Jim Crow, before opposing the landmark civil rights acts and desegregation, to the slow march of Marxism through our institutions that’s brought us to 2020, the Democrats have been on the wrong side of history for all of their history. This time, we’re experiencing a woke Marxist revolution of nonsense, violence and hateful ideas that’s just as popular as all of the other evil policies that the Democrats have advanced to divide good people and gain power for almost 200 years.

All in the middle of a pandemic unleashed upon us by their first cousins, the Maoists in the CCP.

Losing me here. The right has been making Hollywood, education, the media that they don’t own, etc as the enemy for a long time now. Nothing new there.

And Trump alone has been the most divisive President in modern history bar none. Not even flirting with the idea of common ground but calling those who disagree with him the enemy or worse. He’s threatened numerous times to treat states differently if they do anything he doesn’t like. For fucks sake he retweeted the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat. Everyone who has ever done anything that offends him is met with some type of insult. His supporters chant whatever he wants them to chant, whatever he says. It’s a cult at best.

If you want to argue that Dems are responsible for some of the division I won’t remotely disagree with you. But spare me the idea that they are alone in this. They spent 8 years opposing everything the last President did and made up horseshit conspiracy theories all the time. And then they decided to choose as their standard bearer a reality TV star billionaire with a history of scamming people who ran much farther to the left than the last President in many ways. On issues that they acted as if the end of America would follow them.

I had to look this up, because I thought he had retweeted that in meme form or something. But no, he retweeted something only the “ZOMG! Trumppppp!” crowd would mention.

I’m shocked to find you looked something up that Trump did and concluded none of it matters. Simply shocked.

From the people who brought you he probably didn’t listen to the video, who would take medical advice from someone who isn’t a doctor, and any federal money used to dig up dirt on an opponent is good comes another installment of that bad thing isn’t bad you’re just taking everything the wrong way.

No matter what anyone thinks about Trump he was dead on when he said he could shoot someone and wouldn’t lose supporters. Because we’ve had years of proof on here of that. He didn’t mean looters should be shot without trial he meant “shoot” as in shoot cuffs on them and try them in front a jury.

If the target were a Progressive, anyone could do it without having to worry about me caring. Please don’t believe only Trump could.
