We were talking about what Christ taught. Either we were talking about charity, or you are claiming he wasn’t preaching charity.

Christ taught

Jesus says "For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, " that is not a request for charity

Okay, you can absolutely go ahead and claim Jesus didn’t teach charity, and I can no longer take you seriously enough to respond anymore. I can see that you haven’t stopped smoking yet. Have fun in imagination land.

No, but what he preached was what we call charitable works in modern culture, or, in trinitarian Christian circles, they sometimes refer to these acts as corporal works of mercy. You have failed to provide any biblical evidence of how Jesus preached anything close to what constitutes the definition of socialism - case closed. What you are classifying as Jesus’ version of socialism were personal commandments. He said nothing about the role of government in caring for the poor, providing safety nets, tax structures, central planning, etc.

He said that over six hundred years before he was born? Amazing.

This seems to be the normal course of events…

You just get to the point where interaction is futile.

As a fun aside, we use the term charity incorrectly. Charity really means love of god and neighbor. Giving is alms. Alms is an external indication of charity, hence charity eventually became synonymous with giving.

Uh… I actually quoted the statement I agreed with. So it was in fact made.

I also asked you a question a while back that you ignored… Not to my surprise.
some do some don’t , the problem is not enough do .

I am sorry I thought it was a snarky attempt to prove a point .

Believe it or not there are even bad people that are charitable

In my opinion trying to link Capitalism to Charity is like the link between Rape and love , just my opinion
pittbulll wrote:

If people don’t have more than they need how can they give anything other than their time to people in need?

Based on what?

What is “enough”?

How much should someone give?

And whom is deserving of the fruits of another’s labor?

Then why on Earth did you?

I know the concept is hard to grasp but I am sure you can do with a lot less than you think is necessary. I personally should be more charitable than I am , I do try how ever . I am also glad our Government has programs in place to take care of those less fortunate than i .

I personally would have little problem cutting the welfare we give business I also would have no problem forcing Employees to pay more than the person could get on welfare

My personal opinion means nothing, nor does your’s . Our Gov has it covered , basically
