Good call on the Boom-boom-Pow. I also hate just about everything by Missy Elliot and couldn’t believe “Telephone” or anything by Kesha made it past the radio screeners (they do listen to just about every song before deciding to play them).
Everytime I hear songs by Kesha I just think “This is why guys think girls are inferior.”
It’s a 3 way song tie. Freebird, Stairway to Heaven, and Smoke on the Water. makes me want to jam ice picks in my ears when I hear them. that’s why I hate classic rock radio!
I’ve never listened to several of the videos you have listed before and I’m sorry I did now. you’re really cruel fucks you know that?
ahhhhhhh… a simple wholesome music video to clear my brain
Hammer smashed face is a great song. Tomb of the Mutilated is far better than Hypocrisy or Bloodbath. Nile is good and talented but not as groundbreaking as Cannibal Corpse was. Hypocrisy and Bloodbath are just your run of the mill bands.
When I started my job at the steel factory a few years ago I couldn’t believe some of the horrible stuff that was played day in and day out. Closer to My Home by Grand Funk Railroad has to be the worst thing i’ve ever heard. It is so boring, repetitive, and devoid of anything even remotly redeemable.
too many to mention.
from the newer stuff - anything by the Black Eyed Peas.
classic rock - Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith.
rap - Pop the Trunk by Yellawolf (thought it was a joke at first when someone sent me a youtube link)
country - Black and White by Rascal Flatts.
“metal” - Enter Sandman by Metallica.
I had to go gouge out my ears with a rusty spatula after posting.
Wow man, I don’t know how you can’t like these two songs. Specifically Mr. Jones. That has got to be one of the top songs of the 90’s
Musically, the 90’s fucking sucked. Some exceptions, but those aren’t it (IMO of course). Alanis Morissette (Lil’ Anus More Upset) was one of the top artists of the 90’s. That CC and BM were ‘top artists’ says more about how much the period fucking sucked than how ‘good’ they were.
Specifically, Mr. Jones is one of the Godawfullest whiney-assed songs annoying fucking songs ever written.

X2 on all counts!
Though recording /music production was way better in the 90’s than in the 80’s.

I think it just goes to show how much of an influence the music we grow with has on our taste for music later in life. We grew up in different periods listening to radically different music.
Had a college roomie who would leave a room/bar/pizza joint/whatever if Losing My Religion by REM came on. Literally could not be present if that song was played. Weird.
That “friday” song, has made that girl a millionaire apparently. I saw a quick bit on her flipping through tv: its a top 3 itunes download. What a world!
