They’re already building their “stabbed in the back” foundations. As for the media, well what did they expect? If Mitt Romney, a legitimately good man, cannot escape the mud slinging, how did they expect Trump to?
And the consequent revolt against the establishment has put two such people on the ticket.
The only clear route to a Hilary victory was, and is, Trump. Instead, the GOP have savaged their credibility among college educated whites, women, and cemented Dem control of minorities. Now the best any conservative leaning American can hope for is that there is lemonade in Hell.
He really can’t win either way, can he? As in damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
If he says I will take the ultimate stance of removing immigrants and walling them out - he is Hitler or Stalin heartless fucking psycho idiot ruining the GOP
If he walks it back a notch - he is panderer, not a Conservative, can’t win who has ruined the GOP
First commentators Fox had on after Mexico speech, one screeched about him not being able to tell Mexico they were paying for the wall. Which of course he should have done, this being first meeting with a foreign president and while you have no official capacity \sarc.
Remember, he is the one that claimed to be the most conservative outsider in order to win a very hard right base. Now he sorta wants to pivot towards the middle so he has a chance to win (like most politicians) but still maintain his hard right stances. So he flips towards amnesty and his base gets mad so now he flops back to what got him the nomination.
I think it’s his willingness to disregard due process in order to achieve the above that has so many up in arms about his plans.
I mean, he is pandering. When he walked back his stance last week or whenever it was he was pandering to the middle of the road voters.
and the alt-right is so obviously and pathetically and tellingly fixated on (infatuated with?) big brown-colored cocks that their favorite political slur cites the shame induced in a little white guy when his woman gets plowed by a hog-waving black guy,
I wouldn’t be remotely surprised if it involved a pants-drop and a ruler.
Shrinks will be analyzing the sexual inadequacies driving American politics in the Trump Era for decades to…
He has indeed pronounced his own ‘red line’ in immigration by spouting off in non Constitutional terms. IE deportation without considering due process. He made a rookie mistake in order to be heard above the normal din of 17 wannabes. And now he must live with it. No complaints from me for his imprudence.
His strong suit is bringing up the failure of unchecked immigration, treaties and legislation that encourages off shoring of jobs, and bringing down political correction.
I don’t particularly admire him, but maybe he is a Churchill for us - save the country by pulling out the stops. Then as you recall, was set out to pasture almost simultaneously as being revered as a savior.
Entrepreneurs are generally great visionaries but mediocre administrators
No, just no. If this was the case he would have to talk about something other than alt-right talking points. For example, entitlement and the national debt. Considering those aren’t ever mentioned by Trump is telling. That issue is more important than immigration, as the previous general election and recent primary polling has shown. Without addressing the economy you can’t pretend Trump is even remotely close putting together policy that addresses actual issues we’re facing. But a wall sounds great right? Nerberdy will steal yer jerbs!
From WSJ:
As ever, the big spending drivers will be entitlements, which are projected to rise to 15% of the economy from the current 13.1% over 10 years. This is the fiscal time bomb that Mr. Obama will leave his successor, thank you very much
The federal debt held by the public—the kind we have to pay back—has already climbed to 73.6% of GDP (from 39.3% in 2008) on Mr. Obama’s watch and will increase to 75.6% this year. CBO expects it will keep climbing to 86% in 2026.
We realize such unhappy realities are not supposed to intrude on a presidential campaign, and the American public long ago dropped spending and deficits as major concerns.
December’s budget deal explains the $32 billion increase in 2016 in discretionary spending (the kind Congress approves each year). Defense spending will “edge up slightly,” CBO says, while domestic discretionary climbs by 4%. That leaves the big money to the usual suspects—entitlements. Outlays for Medicare (net of premiums), Medicaid, the children’s health insurance program and ObamaCare subsidies will increase no less than 11%, or $104 billion, this year.
Even an estimated federal revenue increase of 4% for the year can’t keep pace with this kind of spending blowout. Receipts will rise to 18.3% of the economy, which is well above the average of 17.4% from 1966 through 2015. So even as revenues return to their historical norm, they can’t compensate for the spending on entitlements that Mr. Obama has refused to reform.
You mean there is already enough people who would rather see the corrupt pants suit win. However because there is not much good one can say about Hillary they continue to denigrate Trump.
Then when pushed they run from Hillary like she’s on fire…It was fun to watch for 4 or 5 months and then I realized that one can get dizzy on the never ending merry go round.
Have not had much time to post lately but as usual nothing has changed–Ground Hog Day still rules.
