Just curious, why did you immigrate to the US? It seems the founding principles of the US directly contradict the views you’re espousing…
If you wanted a racially pure enclave, you could have chosen any of the EE countries. Hell, my small town is 100% white, 99% catholic and the nearest black person is at least a four hours’ drive away…Granted, for that reason it is not exactly a economic powerhouse and you’d make roughly a fifth what you’re probably making right now, but hey - there aren’t any of “those people” around (sarcasm).
From the earliest civilizations, successful global empires are built on inclusiveness. There’s a reason the Third Reich lasted for less than 12 years.
Cyrus the Great formulated the basic template for successful global superpowers back in the 6th century BC in the Persian Empire - we don’t care where you’re coming from or who you are , worship whoever you want, but pay taxes, follow this clear set of laws and guiding principles and you’re one of us. Sounds familiar? A social and cultural definition of a nation, not racial or ethnic.
This template was followed by many - from Alexander the Great to Romans who used this as their trump card in domination of the Mediterranean basin. Whenever possible, Romans integrated conquered peoples and occasionally their deities, giving them a stake in their Empire. As with this process, the definition of “being Roman” evolved and changed. From fair eyed and fair haired citizens of a single settlement on the seven hills, to Arabs, Egyptian and Armenians who couple of centuries later boasted of their “Romanness” and acquired citizenship of the Empire.
Do you think someone in Rome foamed at the mouth when Semitic emperors from Africa ascended the throne such as Septimius Severus and Philip the Arab (yes, Philip the ARAB).
It’s no coincidence that the Founding Fathers tried to emulate the Roman Republic and its core principles - the SENATE, CAPITOL HILL - just a few terms to evoke the link spanning one and a half millennia between the nascent state and the Rome of old.
And it’s not just Rome - every global superpower tried (and still tries) to construct a supra national identity - from the pure meritocracy of the Mongols to the British Empire, thus providing a stake in the Empire, with which their subject can identify with.
Speaking about the British Empire, this self-identification enabled Mohammad Ali-Jinnah, the future founder of Pakistan to send a spectacularly racist letter from London where he was studying law to his father, complaining about “too much brown people in London”. Same with Gandhi.
Even Putin’s Russia with it’s cartoonish 19th century racism is trying to coin a new term - russinskiyi (Russian speaking) instead of russkiyi (ethnic Russian, meaning white and Christian Orthodox) to enable everyone, including Muslims from the Caucasus to identify with the Russian state.
Which brings us to another point - cultural and ethnic diversity. There isn’t a city in history that was an economic powerhouse that didn’t have an extremely racially and ethnically diverse population - from Rome, Constantinople, Baghdad, Paris, Madrid, London… there’s no way in avoiding it, simple demand for labor dictates it.
The apartheid-era South Africa propagated this fantasy about a country of whites with a liberal sprinkling of “hard working Koreans and Chinese” but it came crashing down against the hard economic reality. Sounds familiar?
So if in a few decades a typical American will be a Jose or a Carlos, this will all part of an evolutionary and changing definition of what “being American” meant, a crucial characteristic of every resilient empire/superpower.
On a side note, I bet the mid 19th century Know-Nothings would roll their eyes upon hearing descendants of Irish immigrants “wanting to take their country back”
I really don’t know a whole lot about the examples you posted, I’m not particularly well versed in ancient civilizations. I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and just assume you’re correct.
But if you look at modern times, you’ll notice a recurring theme that most wars have been fought along racial/cultural lines and in almost every society it has shown to be a major fault line. In America alone, whites and blacks have lived alongside one another freely for decades and yet there is still constant racial tension. If whites and blacks can barely get along, why on earth do you want to continue to diversify the United States? How about working on mending racial tensions amongst people here first? Did you know Lincoln didn’t even believe in a multiracial society, he wanted blacks to self-deport themselves and start their own colony elsewhere in the Americas.
Lastly for the pro mass immigration people - what about the country’s current demographics is so upsetting to you that it needs to be changed so radically?
What made the US your destination of choice? What were the driving factors behind your decision?
Why didn’t you move to Minsk, Belarus, for example? Completely white, almost no violent nor property crime, one of the cleanest cities in the world with probably the hottest women on the planet…
The US was such an attractive prospect for you for the exactly the same reasons you’re criticizing it now, which is kind of hypocritical in my view
And there’s the catch. You can’t. You had to go and live in a more economically developed melting pot country that was created on principles of inclusiveness, as well as religious and economic freedom. And that means, among other things, all those pesky non-white people that contribute and have contributed to making the US what it is now.
So take your pick - economic development or racial/ethnic purity. You can’t have both. And if you’ve decided to live in a country that rewards your labor with a larger compensation, well, you just have to get used to all those brown and black faces.
Seriously, consider Belarus. Sure, it’s a dictatorship where three or more people standing on a street corner are considered an unauthorized public gathering which brings several years in prison and the salaries are around a hundred bucks after taxes, but, I mean, look at those women!
The ultimate irony is that the women you (hopefully) did in Belgrade were attracted to you primarily due to your American passport.
You’re peddling the same argument as others have put forth earlier.
Culture is a reflection of the country’s demographics.
The US is culturally derived from people of British Isles stock. If you replace people of this heritage with people of different heritage, the country’s culture shifts to reflect the new people’s and America’s original founding principles dissolve.
Culture is more than a reflection of demographics because culture isn’t a function of racial determinism (there’s no such thing, despite what your reptilian overmasters at the white nationalist websites you visit keep telling you).
But in any event, a point you keep skipping over - it’s our culture, not yours, and our culture is and has always allowed for immigrants to join. That is our history, our tradition, our culture - and you are an unwelcome alien trying to change a culture that doesn’t belong to you. Thus, as we’ve stated a million times, you violate your own sacred principle of respecting cultural purity by insisting that immigrants are undermining the culture.
Speaking of cultural purity, let’s have some fun. So insistent you are about the US being a culturally pure offshoot of “people of the British Isles”, we surely should see all of our important places in our country reflective of that purity with their names, dating back to the birth of the country. Right?
Oh dear:
Someone needs to inform our forbears that naming states such things as “Kentucky” (Native American) and “Texas” (Spanish) violated Raj’s rule that deviation from our “British Isles” cultural playbook (the Dutch will be furious) as obviously un-American.
Say, who knew early Americans were so un-American?
Maybe Raj and his hero racist creeps can start petitioning to rename each state along proper “British Isles” names. Raj, you should start with Texas, one of the worst violators of cultural betrayal back in the mid-1800s (using the language of those no-good Hispanics, Raj!). I am sure Texans will see it your way and immediately recognize they’ve been traitors to American culture all this time.
The Clintons need to make sure he gets hooked up with some lucrative speaking jobs when he retires. Extreme carelessness. Must be so liberating to be one of the elites.
So Democrats screamed about Comey opening an investigation despite not knowing what was in those newly found 650,000 emails, yet Comey says he sees no charges over those same unknown 650,000 emails.
Edit - In just barely more than a week, the FBI was able to sift through all 650k emails on a computer shared with a pervert and they found nothing ?
Now this is a frightening article and a must read. I’ll just quote two of the more unsettling paragraphs:
Trump and his campaign have also spread propaganda created as part of the Kremlin’s effort, relying on bogus information generated through traditional Russian disinformation techniques. In one instance, a manipulated document was put out onto the internet anonymously by propagandists working with Russia; within hours, Trump was reciting that false information at a campaign rally.
Here’s one about Trump’s stance about the hacked e-mails - when you’ve got the British worried…
The words that so shocked the British were “our country has no idea,” and “I doubt it.” All of the NATO allies are sure Russia is behind the hacking. All of America’s intelligence agencies are, too. The foreign intelligence services had been sharing what they knew about this with the Americans, and Trump had been told about it. But he blithely dismissed the conclusion of not only the United States but its allies as well, based on absolutely nothing. Trump had no apparent means of developing his own information to contradict the findings of intelligence agencies around the world. And that he would so aggressively fight to clear Putin and cast aspersions on all Western intelligence agencies, left the British officials slack-jawed.
And the bizarre moment when Putin OVERESTIMATED the GOP:
By August, however, fears began to emerge within the Kremlin that the effort was falling apart. Trump’s attacks on the parents of a slain Muslim American soldier following the father’s speech at the Democratic convention created dismay in the Kremlin. Top Russian officials came to believe Trump would be forced to withdraw from the race because of his psychological state and apparent unsuitability for the presidency, according to information obtained by the Western intelligence source. In particular, Kremlin officials feared they could not predict what impact it might have on Russia should Trump step aside. As a result, the Russians decided to stop forwarding material through channels to WikiLeaks, although some material was already in the pipeline.
They went through the emails to/from Clinton – these being the ones one would expect to bear on an investigation of Clinton. To my knowledge we don’t know what proportion of the 650k this constituted, but given that politicos send mostly 5-10 word emails, it’s absolutely believable that the FBI has been through many thousands in the last week or so.
Is he actually for the Democrats who got pressured by the Republicans into doing something that most people would agree really harmed Clinton in the past week.
Or is he actually for the Republicans, but threats from the Obama admin and Clinton forced him to claim there’s no evidence to charge Clinton with an actual crime?
I think Obama pressured him to back down, just my opinion. I find this as the metric of their (Democrats) concern as they see the numbers. A week ago, Hillary was trying to expand the map in Georgia, Texas, and Arizona. Now, she is trying to defend typical Democratic strongholds like Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Hampshire, and Colorado.
