The Next President of the United States: IV

This is more or less what I think is a very real possibility.

Based on what may I ask?

There is virtually no similarities between Barry Goldwater and Donald Trump. As everyone agrees Trump is not a real conservative he just plays one on TV.

Edit: In addition to that I just checked Real Clear Politics and it seems that Hillary is ahead something like 44 to 42 hardly a blowout. Also, this is in the heart of the summer, point being we are not even in fall yet. There is also one more FBI shoe to drop. If you notice Comey would not comment on the Clinton Foundation investigation. That is because it is an open investigation. He may do nothing but ream her out as he did last time, which isn’t good, but then again he may indict. Maybe he let her go to look fair only to grab her for more serious crimes relative to the foundation? Then again maybe nothing will come of it. But with these two characters in the game anything can happen right up to election day. It is by no means a Goldwater/Johnson scenario I find that ridiculous.

Should have been done a long time ago.

Don’t get me wrong I’m glad to see her go. But they’ll only replace her with someone twice as bad that has been their pattern for the last several years

True, but the Bernie people have the DNC by the balls in a way. If Bernie’s people don’t vote for Hillary, Melania will be showcasing her choice for White House drapes alla The Price is Right.

For as much as I hear about the RNC was a disaster and Trump is Satan incarnate, Dems have plenty of trouble of their own.

My point was in response to this quote by Sloth:

I have no idea if this will be a blowout. It could be, or it could be razor tight. My query was to Sloth:
Is a a Goldwater style free fall following a terrible defeat worth it to defeat Trump like characters in the future?

And Trump…NEVER one to miss an opportunity (he’s good…!)…

“…The highly neurotic Debbie Wassermann Schultz is angry that, after stealing and cheating her way to a Crooked Hillary victory… she’s OUT…!”

Gotta’ Love the man…!

The Debates are going to be “Must-See” TV…!

It actually seems like they have more trouble than the republicans. But don’t read too much into it as the media will whitewash it for them, just as they highlighted the republicans problems.

Mufasa I bet there will be close to 40 million people watching that first debate…your thoughts?

Anybody think bernie will show some sack, and take back his endorsement for pantsuit?

Absolutely, Zeb.

I think it will boil down to 1) how well Trump “controls” himself and doesn’t let his thin-skin get the best of him and 2) Hillary avoids getting “down-and-dirty” with Trump. (Where she will lose).

Trump also better get his act together about clear Policy positions. In the Debates…calling people names and throwing out Campaign Slogans simply will not work.

BOTH candidates will have a tough time doing these two things (IMO).

Not to mention the incumbent president didn’t just have his head blown off in the past year. Being able to ride that sympathy wave, Goldwater never had a chance be he conservative, libertarian, or moderate.

No, I don’t think Sanders will.

If Sanders is ANYTHING, I think he is sincere…and he just cannot fathom the thought of Trump being in the White House.

Louis Gutierrez???

Damn.

Kaine and Pentz should be running for President…but with the way our elections are going, neither would probably make it past the first Caucuses and Primaries…

Bottom line about the Debates?

How well Trump can control himself…and how well Hillary can take what will be some hellacious Body Blows delivered by Trump…

Yep, he was sincere enough in his beliefs to endorse clinton in the first place.

Pretty sure she is a master at down and dirty.

Believe it, Rednose…

This election has been…and will be…FULL of contradictions… insincerity…picking of “the lesser of two evils”…and people backing away from previous positions…

And that’s before we get to the BAD stuff…
