Pointing out this fact does not equal claiming diversity is the driver behind civility, economic prowess, etc… These are different things and I’m happy to discuss the latter of you’d like?
Did he study things that actually happened in America or did he just study non-Americans and then try and apply those finds to America. Becuse, that’s what I was referring to above.
Genuinely choked on coffee reading this. Raj is a foreign born green card (ineligible to vote in the presidential election he so loudly opines on. He’s only GC because of his initial TN visa, as there is no way that such a bethic dim-wit could have gotten GC status through the channels that much of the rest of immigrants go through. And those that I have worked with that came from India, China, and Iran? They are far more alligned to American values then the bigoted shit he posts here.
I definitely think a person’s ethnic origin is one factor in who they are.
Like I wasn’t on the plane that crashed into the Twin Towers, but I have a very good idea what they were yelling just before it hit based on their ethnic/cultural origins.
We have an immigrant who cannot step trying to convince we, the American-born, about the dangers of mixing cultures, the lack of assimilation, the anti-harmony that it promotes, etc.
It appears that he is correct. Some of the most American values of all are silly things like the idea that we all have the same basic rights.
raj, as an immigrant, apparently rejects these concepts…thus fulfilling his own prophecy that immigrants are unable to adequately assimilate.
Copied from somewhere on the Interwebz…a nice passage:
"This is the true American value: We are a nation of compromises. The Constitution is a document of concessions between competing interests. We weigh the right of the accused against the power of prosecutors; we weigh the power of judges against Congress and the president; we weigh the power of the people against the strength of the government.
Yet this is the problem with the right wing today. When a political faction encourages an atmosphere that makes these competing principles evil and corrupt - even the idea that there should be competition among them - it threatens the very essence of America. It must be said outright: These strange Americans are fighting against the founding values of this nation.
The radical reactionaries (it is absurd to call them conservatives) have convinced about half of Americans that the basic American values - the values of balancing various competing interests - are evil and anti-American. This is where the future of America is threatened, and it must be fought at every turn.
What we have seen is the creation of a culture of hate in America, and that is not too strong of a characterization. The radicals vilify those who disagree with them -they must do this to survive. For without the enemies that they themselves imagine, they are nothing. After the imagined enemies are gone, they have nothing to rant against, except the notion of American values. Therefore, if they lose their enemies, they lose America.
America is a balancing act. Sometimes we slip off the wire. No one said it would be easy. No one said it was simple. It’s a work in progress, and it always will be. The danger to America is when we allow those who vilify basic American values to have the loudest voices."
And he’ll never answer why these nasty restrictions he has for immigration, diversity, etc. don’t apply to him.
Raj:
Is an immigrant.
Holds radical, retrograde, non-mainstream social and political ideas.
Communicates at the third grade level.
All three characteristics would a reason for him to foam at the mouth as to why a person bearing these characteristics need to not be allowed into the US.
Oh, but it’s Raj who is all these things, so it’s cool. He gets a pass.
He actively advocates changing American culture - making an immigrant-friendly superpower into a nation hostile to immigrants - while talking about the importance of preserving our (not his) American culture.
I don’t know.
The article only mentions the fact of increasing death (no ratio of m/f), with little attention committed to why.
Do I personally think it has to do with decades of affirmative action against white males, and a feminized education system, that is rigged against them from a biological maturity standpoint - yes.
But could it also be because they expected a free ride, parents coddled them instead of raising men, or simply because free enterprise and nature both reward the stronger over the weaker - maybe yes also.
