Does anyone else wonder why guys get paid over $20/hr to do road work and other construction? These guys tend to be the same guys blowing money in bars and buying shit they don’t need. I have several friends who do this kinda work and a couple of them didn’t even graduate. My point is lower these wages because there are plenty of people out of work who would do it for less. Some people just get paid too much and we have teachers barely getting by.
But isn’t our economy dependant on frivolous spending? Heck if everyone was responsible in their spending and saving, money wouldn’t get loaned, products wouldn’t get made and marked up, etc, etc.

True to a point. When you spend your money at Walmart and not your local mom and pops shop are you helping the economy? Not really. We need to spend money where the rich don’t get richer. Corporations for the most part will do fine without everybody shopping there. When you spend at a small business they do more business, hire another worker, that worker now can spend money and so on. I’m sure you know this as it’s basic econ, but I wanted to get my point across.

Nonsense.

The money you save at Walmart you spend somewhere else, creating jobs there.

Hope you’re kidding. The 10 cents you save on paper towels and random items might help pay for a blow job. Everybody’s gotta work

Aside from it being none of your business what people spend their money on, that type of work takes some grade A extra large balls and a hell of a lot of skill.

I dare you to go out tomorrow, or when you get some free time and form, pour, and finish a driveway. Or get yourself up on some high steel joining beams.
Get back to us with the results too. I love a good laugh as much as the next guy.

p.s. None of the teachers I know are hurting for anything. They are all making at least 60k, and one is about to break 100 since he finished his masters and is now in admin.

All through college and a year after I did asphalt and concrete work. In the winter we built garages etc… I got paid a third of what state workers get because I worked for a small family business. I worked harder than the state workers who have 2 people doing what one man does in small businesses.

One friend of mine worked with me in that family business. He left and got in with Kokosing which is a giant in construction. He told me how he worked half as hard and got paid 3 times as much with kick ass insurance. He spends his money at Walmart, on pay per view, and on his quad.

Maybe if you actually had some experience in the construction industry you would have a valid point. Until then don’t talk about people or things you don’t know.
I guarantee I have more than you.

I also know enough to not begrudge someone the money that they earn.

You need a good bit more life experience kiddo.

Do tell. Were you one of the guys who holds a sign all day? That takes balls. My point is that anyone can do some of these jobs. These guys are getting prevailing wage while others are looking for a job and would gladly take half the pay to do that same job. I can pretty much guarantee that I’ve worked harder than you. Oldtimer.

Hahahaha!

O.k. You win at internets. Congrats. Now go scrub a trowel and don’t leave any boogers on it. You do a good job and maybe someday they will let you touch the concrete.

Maybe.

Look, obviously you’re upset that you’re not more successful than you thought you would be :frowning:
You’re pics also show that you’re not successful physique wise either. You seem to pick fights with others with a bunch of yea buts and I’m older so I know more comebacks.

I’m done arguing with you as you always direct personal attacks and swerve off topic. Good day sir.

So start a firm that hires people for less and does a better job. It is a massive pain to get reliable people on the cheap.

I’m not trying to give you shit. If you truly think you can do it then you should.

Of course where I live $20/hr is the basic rate for a checkout chick at the supermarket. It really isn’t much. So I guess it depends a lot on where you work. Perhaps $20/hr is a lot in Ohio.

By the way your personal attacks against him were a bit low. According to your profile you are only 190 at over 6 ft. SkyzykS looks about the same (depending on his height). And it is a lot easier to gain muscle when you are young. He’s doing alright, and it looks like you are too. So no need for the personal stuff.
