The mosquito is the deadliest animal in the world. Flies and carries infectious disease in the form of malaria - kills millions a year.
Perhaps combining this mosquito with an ant, to make it even more ubiquitous, would be disastrous, or simply, ants that carry infectious diseases.

You’re giving the mosquito credit for just being there, that’s the same thing as when they give trophies to little kids in team sports just for sitting on the bench. P. falciparum is doing all the work.
