May I interject something here as a new-comer to the Politics forum?
Does EVERY fucking argument on this forum end up being a democats vs. republicans thing?
Depending on your political affiliation, the way you look at history is vastly different.
So yea, it does.
Good to know, good to know… I’ll sign up as a liberal then. Is there perhaps a list I could consult as to find out who I will be arguing against in the next couple of weeks?[/quote]
Rainjack, BostonBarrister, SteveO, Thunderbolt, Zap, and Zeb are legitamite guys who are conservatives.
I’ll stick to my assertion that JeffR is simply a political troll, and his opinion should be discarded.

Hey dan!!! Welcome to the forum.
First of all, I would think that even the liberals would be a little sore at the french. They were the ones supplying weapons to hussein until early 2003. They were the ones that removed the threat of force in the security council by announing that under no circumstances would they support the use of force against hussein.
Oh, dan, I hope you realize that irish is, in fact, my cute, little irish dog. When he’s bad, he gets a swift kick to his little lucky charms. Don’t take his yipping too seriously.

Alot of folks like to forget this in their tirade against the President and the Iraq war. France and Russia would never have supported military action against Saddam being that the status quo was way too profitable.
Fact: President Bush did indeed go to that worthless orginazation known as the UN prior to our “unilateral” action and he pleaded for them to enforce their own sanctions. This was a perfect opportunity for the UN to sack up and show the world that they were a legitimate orginazation. They failed.
Fact: France and Russia would have supported their own agenda and would never have voted to enforce the sanctions of the UN. This is a classic example of the inefectiveness of world bodies such as the UN. A nations own interests will always come before the interests of a world orginazation. It’s polyanna to think otherwise.
