I wouldn’t describe it as a candy beer, but it is fairly sweet. Definitely taste the cherry. Fairly strong at 11% alcohol too. If you’ve ever had magic hat number 9 and think its too sweet i’d avoid the elf.

Excellent! I love strong beer, whether it’s strong tasting or mixed with lighter notes and fruits.

Also, one of the best beers I’ve EVER HAD—Rochefort Trappistes 10-- I believe its 13%, and no fruit. Just a really, really well balanced taste. Get it. Now.

And a very honorable mention for “The Sixth Glass” by Boulevard Brewing Co. 10.5%, a quadrupel. named in reference to a Hans Christian Anderson story, “The Watchmen of the Tower”.

Comes in a 750 mL bottle. Also pays homage to the Trappist ales of Belgium. God, is it good. Also one of the best beers I’ve ever had. Try them both, pay whatever is necessary to have at least 2 bottles of each to test out.

Try Tommyknocker Cocoa Porter Winter Warmer.

The taste of beer and cocoa together is awesome.

Also great is Bristol Brewing’s Winter Warlock Oatmeal Stout. Probably my all-time favorite, although I’m not sure whether it’s available outside of CO.

Sounds pretty good king, especially that oatmeal stout. Lancaster brewing company makes an awesome winter warmer as well.

Damn, that looks good. I love buying those variety cases during Christmas and trying out a new one every day after work/school.

Seriously. This is why I’m not terribly fond of most seasonal beers. (Not that I’m a fucking connoseiur.)

There are just some times I want a guinness. If I had to wait an entire season for it, I’d go nuts. With guinness, I just have to wait for one of my older friends to get off work.

Stone Brewery definitely rocks. Only tried Arrogant Bastard Ale so far. Very good and strong.

If you enjoy Christmas beers, La Chouffe makes a really nice one

If any of you are traveling somewhere to visit friends and relatives this season, why not bring a 750ml bottle of Christmas beer instead of wine? It tends to be a real crowd pleaser

I’ll third Stone brew. Excellent beer, I will be enjoying a sixer of pale ale this evening to celebrate the end of this semester, and my perfect 3.95 GPA!
