Yes and no. Leaving aside the whole validity of the four “generations of war” construct, the 4GW theorists (Lind, Chet Richards, TX Hammes) are some of the biggest critics of U.S. strategy around. Lind has written exhaustively on what a disaster Iraq would be, was, and will be. They are generally far bigger fans of attacking terrorism through a law enforcement framework, for a variety of reasons.
Lind certainly has his negatives, but his regular “On War” columns at Defense and the National Interest are at least always entertaining.[/quote]

The WSJ had an excellent editorial yesterday - the gist of it was that we should let in a large number of legal immigrants but expatriate all the multiculturalists. Here here!

The W$J editors are a bunch of aging white elitists who have the money to insulate themselves from the immigration policies they espouse. They were firmly behind the 2006 amnesty, which had almost no filters on who came here.
If one is going to argue that we should let a large number of legal immigrants in here, one has to make a case for ‘why.’ Also, who’s definition of our culture are we going to accept? Can we just let a bunch of Saudis and Egyptians move here and expect no problems, especially after most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudis? How about a bunch of Pakistanis, like in Britain? Having them come here “legally” doesn’t screen out the problems they’ll bring. Britain is now EXPORTING jihadists because of its immigration policies, and 300,000 native Britons leave per year. If that’s what we want, then that’s what we’ll get. John Fund and the other editors there are unbelievable fools.
