According to my wifes diversity classes she has to take for employment Queer is an acceptable term to use whether gay or straight. Faggot, not so much.

Seems like ‘Queer’ is a strange one for them to let slide as an accepted gender identity term, as it implies things that are unconventional and peculiar. I guess it’s technically true in some sense, but it still sounds like it would be rather unpleasant for the LBTs to hear without fretting over.
Queer just means weird. It doesnt mean gay.
Queer could refer to a fetish more than an orientation.
Straight people can be queer if they are fixated on one specific thing and thats all they can get off on
