I agree it’s mostly just irrelevant gas bags on social media doing the identity politics crap but left unchecked it will metastasize.
I’ve never actually seen it in the wild. I’m sure it happens out in CA or something.
Agreed. Obviously I have to apply this to both sides. I’ve seen oodles of IP from the right personally, and far far less from the left.
Fully admit it’s probably because I’ve had WAY more exposure to the right.
The same kinda asshole can be an altright racist, or a farleft antifa goon. At the end of the day it’s just an asshole with a self pittying chip on their shoulder.
Neither side should buy into the plotline that those assholes represent a large amount of “the other side”. Trump is a buffoon. That is a fact. Most of his voters are not buffoons though. I get a feeling that most of his voters are voting “against” Democrats instead of “for” Trump. But sane, regular folks don’t make for good video or quotes, do that’s not who gets viral airtime.
Relax snowflake.
I don’t think you know what that means.
Have you seen one of his rallies?
Those are his followers. Insane subcategory of a trump voter.
Now that he has a chance to say whatever, is it likely he will take them up on it with his own mouth, or will his lawyers apply a bit more finesse than comes out of him normally? As Mufasa and others have said, I wonder the chances he nails his own coffin.
No chance he has the balls to do this. He’ll dismiss it with some bullshit about it being a witch hunt setup and move on.
Hoping I’m wrong after all if you’ve done nothing wrong and you can talk about that it only helps you.
Obviously. I mean, it has the fighting Harbaughs. It can’t be that great.
That’s actually the smartest thing to do. It would be a colossal fucking error for him to actually go to the thing. Can you imagine how unhinged he would sound after a few minutes getting worked up listening to the proceedings?
To think that it has come to this, that the US president cannot be trusted to speak to Congress lest it become a shitshow where everyone loses. Who votes for someone so demonstrably unfit for office???
I put the chances of him testifying at slightly above zero.
It’s a perjury trap, because he can say incriminating things, because he has done incriminating things.
The truth has no fear of inquiry.
In part, the same voters who said for years (decades?) that we live in a “constitutional republic and not a democracy and don’t you forget it and read your Federalist Papers” who now say “meh, a president can pretty much do whatever he wants for four years and his only ‘check’ is the ballot box every four years”.
After years of pounding the table over “first principles”, we learned it wasn’t about principle at all, but instead about price - and they were bought and paid for at cheap, bargain bin rates by a con artist. And they never blushed.
And this article was written back in the heady days of 2008, and thousands more after it until 2016, talking about the dangers of the imperial presidency, the drift away from checks and balances in the Constitution, and the need to get back to first principles adoped by the Founders.
It’s almost as if all that output - which was massive and full-throated at the time - was completely insincere. They didn’t believe in it, and never did.
Fast forward to now, I guess the adage is true - people who don’t believe in something fall for anything.
Crickets AFTER 2016 indeed, @thunderbolt23…
(Where is the Tea Party and protest on the Mall again?)
Yes, sir. Andrew Napolitano blindly follows Trump and Republicans.

Etc.
Napolitano must see his FOX gig slipping away…for the second time…
Oh, Napolitano has been consistent, I’ll give him that, and even now says Trump has committed impeachable crimes. How many of his Fox viewers agree?
