Cool. It’s always neat to find someone else from SD on here, as the state is so small it’s not impossible that you’re connected somehow, haha.

I think @howie424 was maybe a farmer somewhere East River but he hasn’t posted in a long time. And can’t forget @QuadQueen!

EDIT: Nevermind, Howie’s been posting all summer after a few year absence.

What?! Me too! Dude, I didn’t know that. It’s been a few years since we talked though.

Yeah brother, that’s cool. What a small world.

Yeah it’s been a few years since I was active, hope your training is going well.

You can’t go wrong with either caliber. I would opt for the 270 (a necked down 30-06). It’s a little flatter shooting and carries a little more energy at hunting range. Both have a wide range of ammunition options. I have a deep connection to my 25-06, also a necked down 30-06. I would seriously considered looking at the 6.5 Creedmoor. One of my daughters bought a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 and has shot 2 deer with it, dropping them on the spot.

My daughter shot the top 3 round group and I shot the bottom 3 round group at 95 yards( we had to bring in the target in a little that day to get it out of the wind). A entry level rifle with an entry level scope and factory match ammo. I’m impressed with the 6.5 creedmoor.
