The Hitler Obsession

Yeah, I think some had interest in that sort of stuff.

I wonder whether there’s a reason that Americans don’t usually know quite as much about Stalin’s crimes as we do Hitler’s. With Stalin probably having butchered more folks than Hitler, why don’t we learn much about his crimes in school?

I know the answer but I can’t say here.

Dig a little and use some reasoning and you too will know. :slightly_smiling:

It’s not probably. The Soviets did do so, to the tune of 50 million Europeans, not to mention the mass rape at the end of the war. There were god knows how many born to raped mothers. Many women were raped right in front of their husbands and other family members. Some women as young as eight and as old as 80 were raped en masse. It was sick!

Say it ain’t so, Uncle Joe!

The Hitler comparison is a little over used. However, to say that the National Socialist German Workers Party was not socialist is a little ridiculous. Even the Nazi flag was red, chosen by Hitler, to exemplify their liberal social politics.

Crowder did a video on it Yes, Hitler was a Liberal Socialist... | Louder With Crowder - YouTube

I thought it was red as in symbolic of blood.

Crowder is actually the goofball who inspired me for this post.

They were socialist but they were not liberal and they did not have a communist government, and the modern tactic is to paint everyone who is socialist as commie.

As I said, they were racial socialists/collectivists. Crowder was extremely intellectually lazy wth his blog about this topic.

True, but do you think there will be an age in which I can go one week without hearing about these two? :slightly_smiling:

Whether socialist Nazi’s or Soviet Communists, what was the real difference living under those systems? Either way you are a slave to the state. So put some lipstick on it today and call it ā€œDemocratic socialism,ā€ you’re still a slave to the state, only to the majority and not a dictator. I think when people use the Nazi analogy they are eluding to this and often jump to it too quickly.

As far as the red flag, Hitler attributed it to their socialist ideology. The ā€œblood flagā€ was a specific flag that was carried by fallen Nazi party members in the failed Putsch (supposedly stained by their blood.) Hitler would use it to ā€œblessā€ new flags in ceremonies.

Well, under Hitler’s system, life for Jews and other non-Europeans was certainly not good. However, if one were a German living under Hitler, life was actually normal considering the social programs, incentives for work, entrepreneurship, private property, and so on. That doesn’t sound like slavery to me.

That’s how he treated his own people.

Contrast with the Soviet Union in which their own people were starved, looted, hanged, overworked, machine gunned, etc. Did you ever see what these people did to the Baltic countries and Hungary? And what they did to Russian and Ukrainian peasants? Or what they did at Katyn and Vinnitsia? The Germans did not do this to their own people. I am not ā€œsticking upā€ for NS Germany, but no ordinary German was fearing their lives or starving.

You kind of just proved my point. The German people were the majority and destroyed the rights of the minority. A ā€œdemocratic socialistā€ system will always serve the majority at the expense of the minority. A government is supposed to protect the rights of the individual and not serve the whims of a dictator or a mob.

As far as sounding like slavery let me pose this question; in the antebellum south, was the house nigger a slave?

Sounds like Israel.

How do you think Israel treats its minorities?

Okay, I can see you aren’t really interested in having a discussion about socioeconomic systems. Good day to you.

Dude made an impression. And no he wasn’t a socialist, he was a fascist.
I don’t have to be a Jew to hate hitler, nobody does.
His name does get thrown around a bit to willy-nilly, however, it’s not always without warrant. We speak of his atrocities and the Holocaust with great repulsion, and for damn good reason. Yet, we have a holocaust here in the U.S. in the form of abortion. Any other form of state sanctioned industrialized, sanitized taking of human life would never be tolerated, yet we willingly kill 1.2 million human beings a year.
I don’t know any other way to address that other than that being a holocaust.
If you take the quotes from the strongest of abortion supporters, date it in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s and sign Mengele’s name to it, you would not be able to tell the difference.

Hitler and his reich set a new benchmark for evil. While there are very few people who are as purely evil as he was, there are a lot of evil things people do that have scary resemblance to the actions of the Third Reich. History is there to teach us and we need to learn it’s lessons. If we cannot even learn the lessons as it pertains to human life and the intrinsic right of each live to at least be given a chance to live, we are leading from behind before the opening whistle has even been blown.

We want to stop the Hitler comparos? Let’s start first by at the very least granting the right of each human to live. And stop using language to sanitize and justify the unjustifiable. That is what the Nazi’s did. The committed atrocities and prettied it up with words.
We want the Hitler comparos to stop? Let’s make sure the comparisons have no validity.

I have traveled around a good part of this world, the one thing I noticed about the U.S. vs. other places is that we as a people are more willing to lie to ourselves than any other places I have been.

Striving for approval and acceptance, incompetence, plus double standarts - these are all factors that influence people’s behavior among others. The picture becomes even uglier when you sense that we do live in a world where one evil is less evil than another one, so the first is probably not evil enoughā€¦ā€œfor nowā€.
Leopold II of Belgium killed 10+ million people in Congo, yet there is a statue of this freak in Brussels, today. Does someone care? At least the Belgians? Why they should care, if they are not pointed with a finger by anybody.
