England has a true socialized medical system. No one here in this country is proposing such a system.
You expect me to believe that every other industrialized country has some form of single-payer(except the U.K.) and pays far less, often with better outcomes. But the U.S. can’t do it because of scale? There are plenty of studies that show it can. So I will believe the majority of the studies and evidence from all around the world and you can believe in your ideology. Case closed.
Yeah I’m stupid. It’s just that the evidence from the rest of the industrialized world shows otherwise. You see how foolish your ideology makes you look.
However, only a simpleton would look at this and assume it is because of said single payer system that the cost is lower. There are numerous factors to consider. For example, Obesity in the U.S. is higher than all of the other countries listed:
No, only a simpleton would look at the evidence from around the world and conclude that single-payer isn’t the reason.
Don’t get me started on VAT. I would love the UK to have to deduct all taxes in a single tax in my salary packet. If people knew how much we were actually being taxed, there would be hell to pay.
I mean… not really. Most of Europe is inhabited by boot licking statists right? You still have monarchs in silly hats for crying out loud. (Kidding)
Most of the West has gone rather soft on the whole liberty front. We are far too comfortable with our distractions. Just look at the US.
Then: Tax on tea?! Time to destroy property, start a revolution and spill blood.
Now: Taxes on every human endeavor, read and eavesdrop on all of our conversations, regulate everything, unwarranted search and seizure…etc. Who cares? Did you see Game of Thrones last night?
The thing is, there must be a reason why they put so much effort into hiding the total tax we pay. And the lack of a party pushing for lower taxes and less government does not mean that the desire isn’t there.
I’ll have you know, those hats are of great symbolic relevance to us boot lickers!
Who denies that taxes will go up? But because people do not pay monthly premiums the net savings is greater. But your side has to use the boogeyman word taxes to scare their blind base, without presenting the full picture so their contributors are satisfied and the money still flows to their re-election campaign.
