Lol, no shit. It’s so ridiculous. She lives with her fucking parents and they shop for her too. How lazy can you be? I bet she’s all caught up on Game of Thrones, though.
“St. Paul Minnesota”, bet she’s a die hard Bernie supporter too.
God damn it, my jimmies are all rilled now.
I love the idea, but one practical obstacle is that these kinds of “gym membership” health plans function as a kind of insurance for the members - meaning they price in accordance with anticipated needs, but like an insurer, there is a risk they price wrong compared to actual demand and what happens then? What happens if they overwhelmed with demand for procedures and the costs outstrip what they collected in membership fees? State regulators worry that these kinds of providers require a capital reserve to offset that risk (as an insurance company would) so that a bad year won’t cause the place to shutter or otherwise be unable to provide care to all its members.
That’s one issue. Its probably overcome-able, by I know that’s a stumbling block.
Then we are close. Only another third.
Yep. If you ever find yourself in agreement with me you’d better recognize you are probably violating your ideology and that is sacrosanct.
Your ability to miss the point is truly astounding.
Get ready. Single-payer is most likely on the way. Hopefully as someone who wants to pay higher prices for worse overall outcomes. You will have the ability to do that.
If the Dems wrest control of the House, Senate and Oval Office (a very remote possibility anytime soon, IMO), I could see a push for, and possible attainment of, a ‘government option’ model. I can envision no circumstance under which the US would go single payer. Just my opinion.
Not based on the poll you weren’t able to read.
Zep’s stupid talking point #7,453.
It depends on what type of Democrats run. Corporate dems or…
How does this poll sound Poll: Plurality of Americans supports single-payer health care, but... – HotAir
It depends on how the question is asked. Throw in a conservative boogeyman word like taxes and the results change. Even if taxes go up spending on healthcare goes down so the overall effect is less money spent. Republicans know how easily manipulated their base is so all they have to do is use the word taxes and they can lower the results. It doesn’t matter if there is an overall savings. That point is rarely raised by Republicans as they know they will loose the argument, so they just say taxes.
Like many people, the author of the link does not understand the difference between a ‘govt option’ (eg, Medicare for all) and single payer. Put simply, they are not the same thing. So, the question ‘Are you in favor of Medicare for all?’ (the first poll question) is not the same as ‘Are you in favor of a single-payer system?’ (the second poll question). Frankly, I’m surprised and impressed that so many Americans were able to differentiate the two.
It does indeed. When you ask people two different questions, it should not be surprising when you receive two different answers.
you tell me:

I do not think the distinction you made played a role in the outcome of the question asked.
Your link isn’t live.
The difference here is the use of the word taxes.
Wow, your critisim lies with the name of the website not the contents of the article. Why am I not surprised?
You may be right, but the fact remains the two polls asked different questions.
Oh my fucking god…
