Just announced that Tim has been named Cy Young. As a giants fan I am pleasantly happy for him and the team.
Well deserved by Lincecum. I would have voted for Carpenter myself.
Lincecum is a great pitcher and I would love to have him on the Phillies, but I think Carpenter deserved it more.
I was listening to Scott Van Pelt yesterday and he theorized that Wainwright and Carpenter split the vote which gave Lincecum the advantage.
I still can’t believe that Carpenter was left off aof 2 ballots, though. How do you justify putting Vazquez and Haren above Carpenter?
Lincecum is a dominant pitcher and I am thrilled that he won this award, for the second year in a row. Take into account that he is 25 years old and it only gets better.
I just hope the Giants get smart and lock this kid down for the next decade, because he is exactly what you want to build a franchise around. GO FREAK.

Yea, especially after winning the 2nd time, he will be expecting more money…
The first two full season of his career, this freak won back to back Cy…

I think some voters strongly believe you need to start almost the entire season if not the entire season to win the Cy. Also I think people get a little obsessed with the K number.
I like Lincecum and even I was surprised by this. I didn’t think he had enough wins to get the award. I thought he’d be in the top three, but not the winner.
Anyway, it’s good for him and the Giant’s organization.
