Chauvin being acquitted is the best thing that could happen for her. It would prove her right about white supremacy in America and help her push the reparations bill. These people have moved so far from MLK, and even Malcolm X, it’s sickening.

Totally agree. This piece of shit actually had the gall to request police protection during her “stay”. Any officer deaths or injuries is on her and her circle. I try to keep my anger in control by remembering biology. All biological creatures eventually die. Some just need to do it sooner than later. Be safe, Brother.

What are people’s thoughts on an appeal if he is found guilty (on any of the charges)? The judge seemed to acknowledge that an appeal would possibly be successful (in regards to Maxine Water’s statements).
If he’s found guilty but successfully appeals, could he ever get a fair trial again?
What happens if it is reasonable to believe that a person can’t get a fair trial?

I’ve wondered how Trump’s “fight like hell” (in the same speech where he asked for peaceful protest) caused so much outrage when Democrats had been using inflammatory language. People were actually killed, congressmen swarmed and surrounded. Buildings burned.
Punch him in the nose. Get up in their faces.
This isn’t remotely new.
There is no surprise that she did this. The surprise will be if anything will be done about it. Or if it’s still a story in another day or two.
Don’t get me wrong, both sides are guilty. BOTH have been guilty all along.

I’ve often thought about the shift in civil rights activism since MLK died. It’s quite disheartening. Some of the shift was inevitable as King was assassinated, a lot (I feel) became power plays by self interested individuals that further division.
I think that will be precisely the defense’s assertion.
The difference is one incited insurrection to overthrow our presidential election by violence, and the other is inciting street riots about racial inequality. And it’s a big difference, but I’ll stop with the whatabouttism.
Maxine waters is opportunistic and seemingly drunk on her fairly recent power. She did make the media rounds clarifying her statements were metaphorical, she doesn’t want violence, yada yada… But in today’s click bait world the damage is done and the superficial message is out there. Some part of the inevitable violent rioting that will come out of the trial should fall at her feet. I would very much approve of her censure. We need some class back in politics. More folks living out “when they go low, we go high”.

The right rioted once, at one location, for a couple hours and did some minor damage to a federal building. The left has be rioting in 100s of locations for more than half a year damaging several hundred federal buildings, and damaging and destroying uncounted thousands of businesses leading to the deaths of thousands of people. Yeah, seems totally equivalent.

The amount of time the jury is deliberating is making me think the probability of a hung jury on at least one count has got to be pretty high.
