It’s so nice to not have to worry the last few games of the season if the Colts can go undefeated, or if they need to lose a game before the playoffs.
They got their one loss out the way now they are getting back to back rings.

Brady (and Manning) are very ordinary when pressured. I watched the Bills/Bengals before the Colts/Pats and both Losman and Palmer looked like all stars compared to Brady and Manning. The big difference was they had tons of time to throw.
People give far too much credit to QB’s.
I don’t think it was the pressure as much as it was the combination of the pressure and the tight coverage by both defenses. When you have some time you can fit it into an open space even in tight coverage. When you don’t have time you can find the holes when the coverage isn’t there. When there’s both… Well, I think if there were lesser quarterbacks there would’ve been about 6 interceptions during the course of the game, not 3 (it was 3, right? 2 Brady and 1 Manning?).

10. Odd note: For two teams that rely heavily on the TE, both played minor roles in this game. Clark did not have a major contribution until late.
Ugly W, but still counts as a W.
Clark couldn’t get the ball because they had Harrison covering him the whole game. Harrison can’t handle a WR one on one all game, but Clark is just slow enough (even though he’s very fast) that Harrison can cover him without too much of a problem. Especially with such a smart NE defense.

That officiating crew must’ve carpooled to the game from the local park and ride, or took a bus with the other fans. Those pass interference calls were some of the biggest screwups (I hope) I’ve seen in awhile.

The second call on Hobbs was a bad call… The one on Moss… Well, i’d say that made up for the 3 or 4 times he actually did interfere. He’s always had a bad habit of pushing off with his other arm as he goes up for the ball or as he tries to make a one handed grab.
I’m glad Harrison didn’t play just because it was the Patriots. It’s still just a regular season game and there’s no reason for you to risk a huge injury over that. However, I can’t stand when people say, “Well if Harrison had played…” That’s the way the NFL goes, you’re going to have to be able to play when your stars are injured. The colts almost did it. As someone mentioned before, if Wayne had caught some of those wide open bombs he dropped the Colts may have taken it.
I knew Addai was going to have a huge game and was telling people that all week. The Pats play a defense where they’re willing to give up x amount of yards to risk putting extra pressure on the QB and prevent the big play - Especially when they play the Colts. The hurt them when Addai (and his blockers) made a huge play out of a check down.
It was a well played game, though.
Welker is the shit. Moss is a catching machine. Its that simple.
Yeah the Pat’s didn’t look like the team we had seen all season, but I think when they meet again; we’ll have our game even MORE refined. We’ll have more time to watch the Colts develop and we can adapt to what they are; and they will have to adapt to our machine.
“We are like a snowball at the top of a mountain, getting bigger and faster while gaining an unbelieveable amount of momentum”~my father
I think that sums up the Pat’s and/or my fathers ideas of snow.
GO PATS!!!
I do love the animosity that comes with being undefeated. Overall I thought it was a great game, and I do have to agree that there were a lot of relatively sloppy moments by NE. But it still doesn’t counter the massive erection I packed on after the clock drew out.
GO PATS!

Officiating was a little ticky tacky - but one could make an argument for both the offensive and defensive PI calls against the Pats.

Not to mention those specific officials call offensive and defensive PI’s more than any one employed in the NFL, or so I heard.
My thoughts on a great game…
The officiating was horrid and seemed badly skewed in the Colts favor. I mean badly. Almost to the point of overshadowing the game and making me think something might be up. Not good times when you have to start wondering if the officials are in a Tim Doneghy (sp?) gambling ring or something.
I was surprised at how well the Pats defense did against the Colts (with the exception of stopping Addai). I really thought that was going to be a big weakness of the Pats, guess I was wrong. I expected the Colts defense to be good, didn’t expect the same from the Pats D.
The Colts had almost everything in their favor - officiating, home field, crowd noise yet they still lost. How the hell are they going to beat the Pats in January in New England? Even with a healthy Harrison?
As much as it sucks, the Pats are going 19-0. They have a very weak schedule the rest of the way and there is no reason to think the Colts are going to go into New England in January and win.
The good news is we won’t have to hear about the 72 Dolphins popping champagne anymore.
I didn’t think the Colts offense played very well. The only thing that really worked for them was Addai, and he was worn out by the 4th quarter.
I respect the Patriots because every game of theirs I have watched its seems to me that they are as strong in the fourth quarter as the first, if not stronger. This is due, in my opinion, to confidence, physical conditioning (they look fresh), and an intelligent coaching staff that makes adjustments. Everything that my Redskins lack. But that’s a whole other rant.
From Gene Wojciechowski @ ESPN:
"If the Patriots can win 24-20 at Indianapolis … in the Permanent Hearing Loss Dome … against Peyton Manning … then nobody will beat them this season. If they can commit a franchise-record 10 penalties for 146 yards … give up 112 rushing yards to Joseph Addai … trail at the end of the first, second and third quarters and late into the fourth … and still win, then nobody will beat them this season.
And if Brady can double his interception total in one game and still leave the field with a 9-0 record, then nobody will beat them this season."

Speaking of the Giants-Patriots game, imagine the scenario that may come up. New England 15-0, going into the last week of the season, facing the Giants and history and, NO ONE WILL GET TO SEE IT!! The game is slated to e televised on the NFL Network. What a crock of shit.

Somehow I doubt we’ll be on “coast mode” in any game, or did you miss the first half of the season.
As for the Steelers… I’m not impressed. So far they have had probably one of the easiest schedules, and both their losses have been to teams not exactly contenders (Denver and Arizona).
The Giants on the other hand, I think their game next week against Dallas will show where they are. Should be a great game.
The Pats didn’t cover the spread so in my eyes they are losers
