One little pool I fish in is absolutely loaded with copperheads, and tons of bluegill in the water. One day I noticed this copperhead hanging out a few feet over from me. I chuck the fly out, and it drifts back, with baby bluegill popping it the whole way. Then after a little watching, the snake starts shooting out and striking the baby bluegill as they go for the fly.
I’d have never guessed that a snake would figure that out.
That’s not all. The fucker will watch you clean it, sniff the area when you’re done and make a scratching motion across the floor if it’s not clean enough to meet it’s standards.
